The largest Dutch-built superyacht to date has hit the water, with the Oceanco 117m (384ft) superyacht Project Y719 making a splash in Alblasserdam.
The five-deck motor yacht has remained under wraps since moving into the outfitting shed after undergoing her technical launch at Oceano’s Zwijnenburg construction yard in July 2019.
With very little detail shared about the mammoth project, this was the first public preview of her Espen Øino penned exterior design. What we do know is she has two helipads, one on the foredeck and one aft on the upper deck and aerial footage also appears to show a large main deck pool and hot tubs on two other decks. Her interiors are the work of Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design and it is believed she will accommodate up to 24 guests.
Sustainability is also a focus of the yard. In October 2020 it announced its Oceanco NXT initiative, a working group involving leading figures in the yachting, technology and design worlds to create a sustainable future for the superyacht world.
It also recently installed heat pumps to its outfitting facilities in Alblasserdam that reduce the building’s gas consumption by 50 per cent, along with solar panels on the rooftop that deliver 250,000kWh of energy a year.
World's Largest Yachts
Oceanco has a reputation for building customizable superyachts of a considerable size, having delivered 19 yachts of 80m (262ft) or longer since it was established in 1987. As well as Project Y719 and Project Y721, it also has three more 100m plus superyachts set to be delivered over the next couple of years, 121m (397ft) Oceanco Y722, 109m (358ft) Oceanco Y720 and 105m (345ft) Oceanco Y1050.
Project Y719 will take the title from 110.1m (361ft) superyacht KAOS as Oceanco’s largest build, and in the process become the largest yacht in the Netherlands and the World's Top 100 yachts by length. However she won’t hold that title for very long, Oceanco is also building a 127m (417ft) sailing yacht Project Y721, with rumors it has been commissioned by Amazon owner Jeff Bezos.
With a Gross Tonnage of 4,980GT, yacht Project Y719 will feature in the new more accurate YachtBuyer YB100 Largest Yachts by GT table by virtue of her large internal volume.
