The 43m expedition yacht Friendly Confines was delivered to her owners in 2006 by Hike Metal Works. She features exterior design by Guarino and interior styling by Gold Coast Design Studio.

Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.4m beam and a 2.3m draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 491 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2004. Launched in July 2005 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2006.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the Friendly Confines features a robust and functional structure focused on safety and comfort. The yacht's steel construction ensures durability and security in various conditions and environments. The exterior also includes a spacious foredeck and a high aft tri-deck design.
The aft outdoor dining deck provides shaded seating for twelve, ideal for enjoying meals and sunsets. The design includes a glass slider that connects this area to the Salon, facilitating easy movement between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Sky Deck is equipped with comfortable couches and chairs, catering to both those who prefer shade and those who enjoy the sun. This area is accessible via a circular staircase from the Sky Lounge, which features media, a service bar, and a day head.
The Sun Deck, located on the fifth level, offers casual sun pad seating, a shaded full-service bar with seating, media, and a hot tub. It is a suitable spot for sightseeing while underway or relaxing in privacy at the dock.
Interior Design
The interior design of Friendly Confines is practical and well-planned, offering a straightforward, comfortable experience for its guests.
The Salon, the first of two lounges, features soft seating in neutral tones, providing a calm and inviting space for relaxation. Nearby, a full-service bar and media center are conveniently located, ensuring guests have easy access to entertainment and refreshments. The day head is also close by. Circular staircases connect the Salon to the lower guest staterooms and upper decks, facilitating smooth movement throughout the yacht.
The Dining Room, adjacent to the Salon, is finished with rich wood accents. It includes a serving station and is suitable for both formal and informal dining. This setup allows the crew to cater to a variety of dining preferences and themes.
The Sky Lounge is accessible via the circular staircase from the Salon. It offers comfortable seating and an extensive movie library. A service bar and a day head are also available in this area. A glass slider opens to the Sky Deck, providing additional space for relaxation and socializing.
Accommodation
Friendly Confines offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to twelve guests across five well-appointed staterooms and dedicated quarters for a crew of seven, ensuring that all your needs are met with professional care.
The Master Suite is situated on a private deck, providing a secluded and serene environment. It features deep mahogany wood tones and a king-sized bed. The suite is equipped with his and hers nightstands, extensive wardrobe options, and the finest quality linens. The adjoining Master Bath includes high-end finishings, a large shower, twin sinks, and fine cotton towels.
On the lower deck, there are four guest staterooms. Two of these rooms feature a double bed and twin bed combination, while the other two rooms are equipped with queen beds. Each guest stateroom offers large windows for natural light, ensuite bathrooms, functional desks, media systems, individual climate control, superior quality linens, and spacious wardrobes.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508B) 8-cylinder 3,000hp engines running at 1600rpm, motor yacht Friendly Confines is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 75,708 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 7,600 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.
