Delivered in 2015, Maryah is a 121.57m motor yacht built by Szczecinska. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of H2 Yacht Design, while Naos S.r.l. is responsible for her naval architecture.

Originally commissioned as a research vessel in 1991, this yacht underwent a remarkable transformation. Over a span of five years, it was meticulously gutted and rebuilt, adhering to SOLAS regulations, with the purpose of accommodating up to 54 passengers.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 17m beam and a 5.6m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 7,023 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Construction started in late 1990 with the keel laid under the project name 'Neorion'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in April 2014 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in April 2015.

Exterior Design

Working with the original hull of a Russian research vessel, H2 Yacht Design was commissioned to create Maryah, a name meaning ‘loved by God’ in Arabic, to become the floating palace of an Abu Dhabi royal.

It is a sleek yacht with a raked bow and clean lines exuding a powerful mindset. The superstructure's elegant sweeping arch, flowing from the transom up towards the main deck and continuing its journey alongside to reach the sharp bow, creates a dynamic energy to the yacht. Curvature is reintroduced on the sundeck where low, wide arches pick up the line from the main deck extending forward to settle on the sundeck. Here, balconies extend at the wings adding interest and private exterior spaces with elevated views.

The sundeck has an expansive relaxation zone with a pool and two jacuzzis. The pool, inlaid with blue with a bold dark and light blue stripe design becomes a focal point. Sun pads and bucket basket-weave seating, with cushions in neutral tones brightened by splashes of Mediterranean orange, create a comfortable atmosphere. Additional seating and a relaxed dining area feature under the vast canopy created by the upper deck, supported by four slim columns that do not obstruct views from the shaded sitting and dining area.

Acknowledging the preferences of clients from Arab countries, where socializing frequently takes place indoors, the exterior space on the lower deck is not designed to be expansive. It is sheltered by the main deck aft pool area, providing a more private and intimate setting. Twin staircases invite guests from this space to the transom beach club area below.

As a SOLAS vessel, essential life rafts are strategically placed within the deck, visible yet unintrusive. A fully certified helicopter platform is positioned on the aft upper deck, and the tender and toys garage is integrated with easy access on either side of the deck at the waterline.

Interior Design

To achieve full SOLAS compliance for a yacht capable of hosting 54 guests, Genesis Yachtline, an interior supplies company, pioneered the use of real wood veneer materials certified for fire resistance. This groundbreaking effort involved certifying 11 distinct wood veneers, including ash, bamboo, rosewood, sycamore, teak, zebrano, wenge, walnut, oak, ebony, and cherry. Each veneer was carefully selected to meet stringent fire load calculations, emphasizing low flame spread and minimal production of smoke and toxicity.

As one of the largest yachts globally, the design team embarked on creating exceptional interior spaces. The yacht includes accommodations for 54 guests, a spacious nightclub, a fully equipped spa, a business center, a computer room, a games room, a gym, private dining facilities, a sushi bar, and a full cinema.

The interior is truly awe-inspiring, featuring sweeping dual staircases crafted from metal and glass, surrounding enormous chandeliers. Walls adorned with gold inlays sharply contrast with dark wood veneer, creating a sophisticated ambiance. A glass elevator facilitates easy access across the six decks, its decorative ribbons of silver against neutral-toned walls adding to the overall elegance. In one of the dining areas showcasing a sushi bar, large panels of textured cream complement dark wood, evoking a Japanese style. Circular ceiling inlays contribute to the space's visual appeal.

The business areas of the yacht, encompassing the conference center and computer room, are efficiently designed. Embracing a minimalist approach, these spaces achieve the exact environment necessary for conducting business. The design focuses on functionality without unnecessary embellishments, ensuring a purposeful and effective setting.

The interiors exude masculine energy: an understated luxury permeates throughout, prioritizing comfort with expansive seating in cream and wood against neutral backdrops. The design is sleek, minimalist, and modern, with depth introduced through strategically placed artwork and textured, inlaid wood. Color is introduced through soft furnishings, a hint of red here, a trace of blue there. These carefully chosen accents not only add vibrancy but also create a definition within the spaces. Guests may pleasantly discover extraordinary walls adorned with captivating geometric patterns as they turn corners, a delightful and astonishing visual feast that adds an extra layer of charm to the yacht's interior.

Cabins are simple and stylish with movement created by illuminated flowing lines within wall panels and ceilings.
