Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.8m beam and a 4.27m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 2,125 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the Simon Fraser is functional and robust, meeting the specific requirements of long-range expedition yachting. Measuring 80 meters in length with a beam of 12.8 meters, the steel hull is engineered to navigate challenging environments, including ice-covered waters. This ice-rated vessel has the capability to crush ice by pushing the bow onto it, ensuring safe passage through polar regions.
Simon Fraser features a touch-and-go helipad, providing convenient access for aerial arrivals and departures. The foredeck accommodates three tenders, two of which can be up to 15 meters in length. These tenders, along with various water toys, are launched using an 11-tonne crane. Located just forward of the helipad, two additional ribs are available, each equipped with its own dedicated crane for launch and recovery.
Interior Design
Simon Fraser features an interior design that combines traditional detailing with modern elements. The primary materials used throughout the interior include paneled polished warm wood and dark walnut, which are complemented by etched glass and mirror details. Fabric panels set within teak framing add light and enhance the sense of space.
The bathrooms feature a combination of warm wood paneling and white-grained marble on the walls and floors. Colored stones are used on the vanity tops and bath surrounds, creating a balanced and elegant look.
Accommodation
Simon Fraser offers accommodation for up to 24 guests in 12 suites.
Amenities
The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker.
