The Italian company, with over 25 years of experience in delivering innovative audio, video, IT, and comfort systems aboard superyachts, will reveal its latest breakthrough at a press conference on September 27 at its stand (Darse Sud DS88).
The highlight of the event at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show will be an AI-powered energy management system designed specifically for an electric-powered superyacht. This system optimizes onboard comfort while significantly reducing energy waste, making it a game-changer in yacht sustainability and efficiency. For instance, the AI system can predict energy usage for the next six hours based on factors like guest numbers, weather conditions, and the yacht’s route, adjusting cabin temperature settings accordingly.
Professor Sergio Saponara from the University of Pisa will introduce AI’s potential for the yachting industry, offering insights into its broader applications. Maurizio Minossi, CEO of Videoworks, will provide a detailed explanation of the AI project, emphasizing the impact this innovation could have on yacht energy management and overall comfort.
Dutch builder Feadship is among a leading group of superyacht builders embracing sustainability in building custom yachts. The yacht PROJECT 713 has joined a series of eco-focused launches in the past year, including the HVO-powered superyacht OBSIDIAN, the fuel-cell equipped yacht PROJECT 821, and the hybrid-electric certified superyacht PROJECT 1012.
The superyacht DRIZZLE, launched earlier this year, is Feadship’s first hybrid electric-class superyacht. At 92m (302ft) it ranks among the top 100 largest yachts in the world. DRIZZLE utilizes 560kW electric motors and 1MWh of Li-ion batteries for increased sustainability.
The 109m superyacht BRAVO EUGENIA was built by Oceanco with a "Life Design" hull for optimal energy efficiency, with a hybrid propulsion system reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 30%. It integrates waste heat recovery and energy-efficient air conditioning, boosting both performance and sustainability. Additionally, its advanced AV/IT system offers smart controls for lighting, climate, and media, all accessible via tablets or smartphones.
The press conference promises to be a major highlight of the Monaco Yacht Show, offering a glimpse into how AI is set to transform the future of yachting and the design of new superyachts.
