Design & Build

The 330 is available in three versions: the C coupe, the sportier S330, and a V model tailored for the US market, featuring outboard engines. Its design is asymmetrical, with the starboard side widened to maximize interior space and create an efficient working deck.

All models utilise the same Bill Dixon deep-vee planing hull, achieving speeds of around 30 knots. The S and C models are both sterndrive, offering the option of either a twin Volvo Penta D3 installation or a single D6 engine known for its efficiency and smooth operation.

The S330 is wonderfully open across the cockpit

When considering the three variants in terms of cruising, onboard living, and maximising interior space, the C330 emerges as a compelling option. It offers additional salon space and boasts a flow from the interior to the cockpit, rivalling larger 12m (40ft) yachts in this regard. With its cockpit doors opened, the C330 achieves an inside-outside ambience akin to a 12m yacht.

For those seeking a more open sports yacht experience, the S version presents a versatile cockpit layout. With convertible seating that easily transforms into a sun pad, along with a fabric sunroof and retractable cockpit awning, the S330 offers a distinctively different feel compared to the C model. Sealine's ability to provide such diverse variations from a single hull gives buyers a genuine choice in their yachting lifestyle.

Cabin Space & Finish

With the salon and galley located on the main deck, the C330 offers ample space below for two well-proportioned quarters, including an evident owner’s cabin forward. In contrast, the S330 positions the salon and galley downstairs, resulting in less spacious cabins, though both still accommodate two doubles.

Regardless of the 330 variant chosen, a level of finish and finesse seldom seen at this size or price range is evident. Four cabinetry finishes are available, with the standard walnut complementing the oak and chestnut options. Lighting is a notable feature, with discreet mood lights, abundant glass, and custom blinds ensuring a cool and private ambiance.

Storage

Storage is a critical consideration for boats of this size, as they are often used extensively. The 330 impresses with its extensive storage capacity, delivered with a sense of quality. Lined underfloor compartments, integrated drawers, spacious cupboards and lockers, and a large climb-in void under the helm provide ample space for gear storage, including room for an inflatable dinghy and outboard motor.

Interior Accommodation

All three variants of the 330 include two cabins, but the C model offers a superior level of luxury and space below decks.

The forward master cabin features a spacious, low-slung double berth with ample cabinetry and storage, a consistent feature of this highly practical yacht. The mid-ship cabin boasts a decent entranceway with full-standing headroom, a seat, and a hanging locker. Although the double berth partially lies beneath the salon sole, there is sufficient height on the outboard side to sit up next to a large hull-side window. It's worth noting the substantial size of the berth, comfortably accommodating two adults or three children.

Improvements on the Way

Looking ahead to the future, the soon-to-be-launched 335, essentially a sister model to the 330, will introduce two significant improvements. Firstly, it will feature a separate shower stall. Unlike the 330, which has a single wash-down style toilet compartment, the 335's compartment will extend slightly into the forward cabin to accommodate the shower, sacrificing some cabinetry but offering a practical compromise.

The other modification is situated in the salon of the C330. This exceptionally luminous area is bordered by what could arguably be the largest windows ever installed on a 10m yacht. When the sunroof and cockpit doors are open, the salon provides an indoor-outdoor experience unlike any other.

The C330's salon offers an abundance of space, light and cooking facilities

The layout includes a raised dinette accommodating five or six people, complemented by a spacious galley offering ample workspace, a deep sink, and a drainer. A notable enhancement will involve the forward section of the dinette folding up to create a raised forward-looking bench, allowing three people to enjoy the view instead of just one as is currently possible.

Helm Station

The boat features a single helm position equipped with everything you could need in terms of specifications, including an optional side door for quick deck access, enhancing its suitability for single-handed operation.

The dashboard accommodates numerous dials and data displays, with room for two 12-inch MFDs if needed. Despite the array of technology, the view remains clear, although the bench seat, while comfortable, lacks substantial support.

The 2021 version of the 335 features the updated convertible dinette seat that integrates with the helm, enhancing the inclusive atmosphere of the helm area, and aligning well with the yacht's social nature.

Deck Lifestyle

The aft galley design of the C330 is ingeniously simple, with folding cockpit doors and a galley window supported by a sturdy gas strut, cleverly connecting the interior with the exterior. A fold-out teak bar table further enhances the connection between the salon and the cockpit, while the retractable awning, dinette, and outdoor fridge contribute to an exceptionally social layout.

Luxury & Practicality

Similar to the interior, the decks are designed for functionality. The asymmetrical layout creates a spacious and secure starboard deck within a generous bulwark. Moving forward past the helm’s side door, there's a slight elevation, but the feeling of being within the boat remains. While the port deck remains usable, it doesn't quite match the excellence of the starboard option.

The foredeck features a recessed well, enhancing safety when handling lines or the anchor. Additionally, a cushioned top can be added to the coachroof, although storing the large cushions may be necessary as they cover the skylights of the forward cabin.

Feel the Quality

Accessing the C330 from the stern is straightforward and notable thanks to a simple addition. A shallow swim platform provides full-beam access, complemented by a starboard transom gate featuring a robust grab rail integrated into the design. This attention to detail reflects the yacht's quality and thoughtful design approach, setting the tone for the rest of the vessel.

Value For Money

When the 330 was introduced in 2015, it brought a much-needed shake-up to its market segment. Since then, competitors have responded, with the Jeanneau NC33 emerging as one of the most prominent contenders.

Both the Sealine and Jeanneau models are priced at around €UR 210,000 excluding VAT (at the time of writing) and both may require additional investment in optional cruising packs to enhance their specifications. However, the 330 offers a solid base specification, including standard features like the teak cockpit table, awning, and luxurious walnut cabinetry.

In addition to essential upgrades like navigation equipment and the helm side door, there is a wide selection of enjoyable options available, including colored hulls and accentuated upholstery and canopies. However, the true value lies in the design, which exudes quality and practicality and is set to improve further. If the 335 is priced similarly, as we anticipate it will be, this boat will undoubtedly be a formidable competitor in its class.

Our Verdict

The C330 stands out as the hardest-working 10m yachts available today, and it's also arguably the trendiest. These assertions have remained valid since the 330's launch in 2014. The challenging news for competitors is that this exceptional vessel is poised to become even better with the introduction of the new 335 model in 2021. This new iteration will address the 330's only shortcomings by introducing a separate shower and increasing helm seating.

Rivals to Consider

Sealine has been so successful with its 10.3m 330 design that it is fair to say that one of the C330’s closest rivals is the Sealine S330, a sportier version with a more open cockpit, lower lounge and space for two separate, albeit smaller, cabins. The Galeon 335HTS goes the same route with its sporty hardtop and lower salon.

Overall, the Jeanneau NC33 is the C330's closest rival on design and layout, with a very similar salon and two good cabins.

The other option is a 1+1 lower deck layout with a cabin and convertible salon, as seen on the Beneteau GT32, Carver C34 and Atlantis 34. The Carver has the same upper salon, with an open mid-cabin lounge and separate forward cabin. A good design if you mainly cruise as a couple. The Beneteau has an open forward section and separate mid-cabin. The excellent Atlantis 34 is great to drive but more about dayboating and weekending, with its open design above and below decks.
