The yacht M'Brace was the winner of the Best Lifestyle Feature Design in 2019 at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.
AWARDED FOR: Lifestyle Feature: Neptune Lounge
While it’s not the first time a water level and below viewing area has featured in a private yacht, it is the scale and comfort of the semi-submerged lounge on Elandess – known as the Neptune Lounge – that had judges awarding top marks.
The multi-level lounge is made even bigger and more accessible thanks to its position opening on the main corridor in the lower deck accommodation area. The size of the windows – they are nearly floor to ceiling in a room with three-metre ceiling height, and half of them follow the curve of the hull so guests can see down as well – coupled with an opening terrace on port side and a large tender garage aft made for challenging engineering. While the lounge was envisioned as an attraction and hang-out zone for children, its serene colour scheme, undulating amphitheatre seating and mesmerising views made it an instant hit with adults.
Its position just forward of the swim platform and tender garage means that something interesting spotted through the huge windows can quickly be followed from topside as well.
