Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9.19m beam and a 2.17m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 444 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in March 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in March 2012.

Exterior Design

Ab Initio features a raked bow, which enhances its hydrodynamic efficiency and contributes to a smoother ride in various sea conditions. The deck is crafted with teak over aluminum, combining durability with a classic aesthetic that requires minimal maintenance.

Ab Initio's hull is painted in Majestic Blue, a color choice that stands out while maintaining a sense of sophistication. The superstructure is finished in Metallic Hazelnut, creating a subtle contrast with the hull and adding visual interest. Below the waterline, the yacht is coated in Black, a practical choice for reducing marine growth and improving long-term performance. The boot top stripe is White, adding a clean and crisp line that enhances the yacht’s visual appeal.

The main deck aft is spacious and accommodates an extensive dining table and built-in lounging area, allowing for comfortable alfresco dining. The flybridge deck is designed for relaxation, equipped with an open-air lounge and a contemporary bar. The hidden Jacuzzi under comfortable sunpads offers a discreet option for leisure.

The exterior also includes a versatile garage that converts into a beach club. It can be opened on three sides, with tenders launched through hatches on both port and starboard sides. Accessibility is a key feature, with a swim platform that can be reached through the opening transom or via twin staircases from the aft deck.

Interior Design

The interior design of Ab Initio is functional and comfortable, with an emphasis on high-quality materials and practical layout. The main saloon features a lounge area with comfortable sofas bordering twin coffee tables. The space is accented by ocean-inspired furnishings and rich, orange-toned lamps reminiscent of seashells. Expansive horizontal windows line the saloon, allowing natural light to illuminate the interior.

The formal interior dining area is adjacent to the galley, which is designed for efficiency and convenience. It is equipped with modern appliances and ample counter space, providing a practical environment for meal preparation. The dining area itself is suitable for hosting dinner parties, with a straightforward design that emphasizes functionality.

The helm is designed with the operator in mind, featuring advanced navigational equipment and a clear layout that ensures ease of use. The design prioritizes functionality and accessibility, allowing for effective operation and control.

The lounges and saloons across the yacht maintain a consistent design theme, with a warm-toned color palette and ocean-inspired wall hangings. The main saloon includes a modern bar and a lavish dining area, positioned on either side for optimal use of space. The lower deck incorporates a fully equipped gym that can also serve as an additional stateroom if needed.

Ab Initio offers accommodation for up to eight guests in four well-appointed cabins. The principal cabin, or owner’s suite, is situated forward on the main deck. This suite is designed to provide a comfortable and private retreat, featuring a cozy seating area, a walk-in wardrobe, and a private office for the owner.

The remaining guest cabins are located on the lower deck. These include two VIP staterooms and two twin guest rooms. Each cabin comes with large wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms, ensuring that guests have ample space and privacy during their stay.
