  • Open stern with three-level beach club
  • Skylonge
  • Movable floor system conceals large pool
  • Spacious 78-foot sundeck

Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 29'2" beam and a 8'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 498 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2022. This was the third yacht built on the T52 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in May 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2024.

Exterior Design

Akula presents a striking visual profile, with its hull finished in a dark grey shade, conveying a sense of power and aggression.

Akula incorporates several innovative features while retaining the core characteristics that have made its line successful. The yacht's stern is designed to host a beach club spread across three levels, providing ample space for relaxation and direct access to the sea.

The aft area introduces a practical change in layout; the traditional garage space has been repurposed into a gym area. This alteration has led to the relocation of the two jet skis and the 5.5m tender to the bow, optimizing space usage and functionality.

Moreover, Akula boasts a large pool on deck, equipped with an up-down moving flooring system. This innovative feature allows for the pool to be concealed when not in use, extending the deck area for other activities. Complementing the luxurious amenities is a spacious sundeck, measuring 78 feet/24 meters in length, providing ample room for sunbathing, socializing, and enjoying the open air.

Shortly after Akula was launched, Baglietto's T52 series clinched the prestigious 2024 World Superyacht Award for Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and below, 45m and above. Highlighting the yacht's standout features, the judging panel particularly lauded its expansive 135sq/m sundeck, hailing it as "one of the best spaces onboard."

M/Y Akula presents a striking dark grey hull, offering powerful performance with twin Caterpillar engines cruising comfortably at 12 knots.

Interior Design

Styled by Enrico Gobbi of Venice-based Team for Design, the interiors are modern and bright, featuring geometric LED lighting and a color scheme of cream and grey with accents of sunshine yellow and gold. The upper deck's sky lounge stands out, offering floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides that can be fully retracted. This design allows for panoramic sea views while providing shelter from the elements, ensuring the space remains comfortable throughout the year.

Accommodation

The yacht offers accommodation in six cabins, including an owner's suite with a separate lounge, en suite bathroom, and floor-to-ceiling screen. Up to nine crew members can be onboard to ensure full guest service.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32) 1,470hp engines, motor yacht Akula is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 18,492 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots.

M/Y Akula boasts a versatile stern beach club, a large pool with moving flooring, and expansive sundeck, ensuring pure luxury and relaxation.
