Bacchanal Yacht

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 29'10" beam and a 7'7" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2017. Launched in August 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2019.

Exterior Design

The vessel's profile is immediately recognizable as a Benetti creation with its sleek, classic lines, yet it's imbued with distinctive modern elements that set it apart. The silhouette is both elegant and robust, showcasing the shipyard's commitment to marrying form with function.

On the sundeck, guests are greeted by an array of custom-designed exterior furnishings with teak grating, a nod to the vessel's affinity for the sea and sun. Specially commissioned pieces, including a multi-height coffee table and sleek chairs, ensure that every moment aboard is one of sophistication and comfort.

Bacchanal's exterior spaces are thoughtfully arranged to enhance the yacht's connection with its surroundings. The innovative use of glass throughout the vessel, particularly in the main deck saloon, offers panoramic views that dissolve the boundaries between inside and out. The large, frameless windows, reportedly the largest single panes ever installed on a Benetti yacht, provide uninterrupted vistas of the ocean, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the spectacular marine environment.

The yacht's outdoor areas are as versatile as they are luxurious. The aft deck, which can be transformed to suit various needs, features a stunning 450kg marble dining table, surrounded by stylish Italian chairs. This space can be enclosed for intimate gatherings or opened up to merge with the saloon, creating an expansive and airy environment that is perfect for entertaining or simply enjoying the tranquility of the sea.

On the upper deck, the design continues to marry aesthetics with practicality. A full bar and a large TV cater to entertainment needs, while the aft deck is divided into multiple seating areas, offering guests a choice of settings for relaxation and socializing. The custom swimming pool at the forward edge is a focal point, elegantly lined with glass mosaic by Sicis, and intentionally set back to allow for a walkway and additional forward seating, providing yet another area for guests to congregate and enjoy the surroundings.

Bacchanal's bow area is another highlight, featuring refined built-in seating and dining arrangements that encourage guests to gather for meals or simply to bask in the beauty of the destination. This space is equipped with awnings that can be attached to poles for shade, ensuring comfort at all times of the day.

Interior Design

Onboard Bacchanal, the craftsmanship of natural materials takes center stage, reflecting the architect's penchant for indoor-outdoor synergy and his aversion to gratuitous ornamentation. The tactile experience is rich and varied, from the luxurious Tai Ping carpets underfoot in the cabins to the astrakhan rug's unique texture in the salon and the sundeck's unvarnished teak sole. These choices aren't just aesthetically pleasing but functional as well, catering to the conditions of the warm and humid environments Bacchanal frequents. The interior design is a masterclass in understated elegance, where the use of wenge panels and furnishings in oak, complemented by grey and charcoal natural fabrics and leather, invite a sense of calm and focus on the world outside. 

Bathrooms throughout Bacchanal feature dark granite counters, white Thassos marble floors and walls, and dark bronze hardware, maintaining the theme of dark wood tones and cooler palettes that are both visually soothing and functionally appropriate for the yacht's typical cruising climate.

The main deck defies convention with its layout; instead of a dining table at its midships, it offers an open saloon arrangement. The design intentionally draws attention to the remarkable floor-to-ceiling windows that frame unparalleled views of the sea. These panes, reportedly the largest single pieces of glass ever installed on a Benetti, create a breathtaking, seamless connection with the ocean vista.

Perhaps one of the yacht's most ingenious design features is the main deck dining area. Situated aft of the weather doors, it cleverly remains outside of the yacht's interior volume calculation, keeping Bacchanal under 500GT. The seamless transition between the indoor comfort and the outdoor expanse is facilitated by a subtle drain and sump solution, which received special attention to meet class approval without compromising the aesthetic.

Gomez de Tuddo's design ethos is felt most palpably in the choice of art and strategic placement of pieces acquired during the family's travels, with the first of these showcases being a striking addition to the main saloon and foyer.

Accommodation

Bacchanal offers lavish living spaces for up to 12 guests within its six elegantly appointed cabins. The guest accommodation is thoughtfully distributed across three decks, providing an ideal balance of privacy and accessibility. The yacht's accommodation features the master suite, a sanctuary of sophistication with its own ensuite, offering the ultimate retreat for the owner. This is complemented by an exclusive cabin on the upper deck, created specifically for the family's matriarch, positioned to offer seclusion while maintaining proximity to the communal areas.

The lower deck is dedicated to the family's comfort, with cabins designed to accommodate the vibrancy of three generations. This includes a children's cabin complete with a Pullman berth, ensuring that even the youngest members of the family experience the utmost comfort. True to the owners' wishes, all cabins are uniformly furnished, reflecting a commitment to egalitarian luxury. The interiors feature dark granite counters, white Thassos marble floors, walls, shower areas, and dark bronze hardware, exuding a consistent and tranquil ambiance.

The aesthetics of the cabins are characterized by the use of natural materials and textures, with walls paneled in wenge and furnishings in oak, accented by grey and charcoal fabrics and leather. The design philosophy is clear: a serene environment where the interior's dark wood tones provide a soothing contrast to the bright, sunlit destinations Bacchanal cruises.

Service is paramount on Bacchanal, and the yacht sails with a dedicated crew of 10, ensuring that guest experiences are seamless and exceptional. The crew's accommodation has been given the same attention to detail, with a cabin for the engineer strategically placed in the lazarette, emphasizing the importance of operational excellence over additional guest amenities. The crew area on the lower deck has been expertly arranged to include a spacious triple cabin, demonstrating a commitment to the comfort and well-being of those who make the Bacchanal experience possible.

Performance & Capabilities

At the heart of Bacchanal's mechanical prowess are twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M70) 1,448hp engines that provide considerable thrust, allowing the yacht to reach a comfortable cruising speed that is both efficient and powerful.  Bacchanal is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots.  With a custom gearbox arrangement, she has the unique capability to operate both propeller shafts with just one engine, an innovative feature that enhances the yacht's range while ensuring smooth sailing. This configuration enables the yacht to attain a speed of 8.9 knots under single-engine operation, which is ideal for long-range cruising and contributes to the yacht's enhanced fuel efficiency.

When it comes to range, Bacchanal is outfitted to meet the demands of voyages that span vast distances. With her 66,440 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots. The yacht's fuel storage and consumption rates have been calculated to ensure that she can undertake extended trips without the frequent need for refueling. This is particularly beneficial for the owners who have a preference for anchoring in remote, secluded locations, far from the hustle of crowded ports.

Stability is a critical factor in the comfort of any yacht, and in this regard, Bacchanal excels. Equipped with Naiad's cutting-edge at-anchor stabilization package, the yacht remains steady and comfortable for her guests, even in the choppiest of waters. This feature not only enhances onboard comfort but also ensures safety and peace of mind during prolonged stays at anchor.

In terms of water management, the yacht comes with large-capacity watermakers which are essential for self-sufficient cruising, especially in areas where fresh water may not be readily accessible. This allows the yacht and her guests to stay at sea for extended periods without the need for shore-based amenities.

The custom Heinen & Hopman air conditioning system, with triple air intake systems and enhanced dehumidification, ensures that the internal climate of Bacchanal can offer respite from extreme temperatures. This is complemented by additional engine room ventilation, complete with commercial salt-mist filtration, to maintain optimal operating conditions for the machinery, even in the most humid environments.

To further safeguard the yacht's sophisticated technological systems, the owners have invested in top-of-the-line equipment, and Benetti has taken additional precautions by elevating the engine room's electrical components, strategically placing them behind panel doors to protect against any accidental oil or water spray.

The yacht’s tender storage is equally thoughtfully designed, accommodating the largest possible Dariel tender within the vertical space constraints of the tender bay, ensuring the family and guests can easily transition to shore excursions or engage in water sports activities.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht, with a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
