Carte Blanche is a 159'8" motor yacht for sale delivered by Christensen in 2008. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Christensen, while Carol Williamson & Associates is responsible for her interior design.

Key Features

  • Glossy sapele wood interior
  • Elevator access across all decks
  • Sundeck jacuzzi & bar
  • Spacious pilothouse with 270° view

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement composite hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 29'6" beam and a 8' draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2006 with the keel laid under the project name 'Desperado'. She was delivered to her owners in December 2008.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the yacht Carte Blanche is characterized by its all-white aesthetic, complemented by a raked flared bow and a black bootstripe. The yacht's structure includes a helicopter pad on the sun deck, specifically designed for touch-and-go operations, adding a practical element to its design. Stainless steel stanchions surrounding the helicopter pad can be hinged down to facilitate landings and takeoffs. Additionally, a ladder leading to the signal mast is designed to swing upward when not in use, providing access to essential components like antenna and electrical cabling.

The yacht features a swim platform and adjacent engineer’s space, designed to support active watersports activities such as SCUBA diving, underwater photography, and fishing. Gear storage is efficiently managed with recessed freezers and large lockers.

The spacious sundeck above features a hot tub and sit-up bar area for relaxation and entertainment with elevated views.

Interior Design

The use of sapele woodwork is on show throughout Carte Blanche, providing a consistent aesthetic across both interior and exterior spaces. This wood is used in cabinetry, paneling, and moldings and is finished to a high gloss.

The galley is designed with efficiency in mind, featuring distinct areas for cooking, preparation, and plating. A large pantry complements the cooling units located on the lower deck, providing ample provisioning space.

In the helm, a centerline design is employed, with a raised observers’ lounge situated on the port side and a navigation desk on the starboard side. The helm display panel is recessed into the console for optimal forward visibility, and extended side windows offer a nearly 270-degree view for the pilot.

The main-deck salon is arranged for comfort and practicality. Large chairs, sofas, and tables provide a welcoming atmosphere. A central island cabinet with a pop-up television screen divides the salon from the dining area. The dining table, which seats ten, is positioned beneath a domed ceiling with indirect lighting. Two suspended fixtures add to the lighting setup, emphasizing the platinum and silver-leaf surface.

Upstairs, the skylounge provides several options for relaxation, including a television viewing area, a game table, and a full-service bar. The adjoining covered deck features a dining table that seats twelve. The arrangement enhances the functionality and social aspect of the space, offering guests various seating and entertainment choices.

Accommodation

The yacht Carte Blanche, crafted by Christensen, offers a range of accommodations designed for both luxury and functionality. The main deck features a full-beam owner suite, accessible through an owner's office and sitting room. This suite is equipped with a forward-facing king-size bed, a bureau, a seating area, and a lighted ceiling dome. The ensuite facilities include a shared shower, spa tub, and a washer and dryer discreetly tucked into the port-side wardrobe.

On the lower deck, five guest suites are arranged around a central hallway. The full-beam VIP stateroom, located aft, includes a king-size bed and a spacious bath featuring a spa tub and shower, adorned with blue achelio stone. Forward of the VIP stateroom are four mirror-image suites. Two of these suites offer king-size beds, while the other two are furnished with double and single beds, along with a fold-down Pullman berth, providing flexible accommodation options for guests.

Crew accommodations for up to 9 are positioned forward on the lower deck. The crew area includes comfortable double cabins with en-suite facilities, a mess area with an expansive lounge, and utility areas equipped with laundry facilities and additional storage. This layout ensures that the crew can maintain high service standards while enjoying a comfortable living environment.

With her 14,591 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,400 nautical miles at 11 knots.
