Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.3m beam and a 3.45m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 817 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Double Haven features a raked bow that contributes to its streamlined and efficient profile. The yacht's deck is crafted from teak, providing durability and a classic appearance. The hull and superstructure are both painted white, creating a cohesive and clean look. The boot top and the area below the waterline are colored black, offering a stark contrast to the white exterior above. This simple yet effective color scheme enhances the visual appeal while maintaining a professional and understated presence on the water.
The stern is equipped with a large transom door that hinges outward to create a substantial fishing cockpit. Twin beam cranes, built by Akerboom, are installed in the aft deck overhang to lift the custom-built tender, Double Happiness, over the transom flap and into the water. This efficient system allows for a straightforward two-man, five-minute operation to deploy the tender.
The upper deck features a spa pool, sunpad, barbecue grill, and a split octagon of seating, ideal for dancing or cocktail parties, and a helicopter landing pad.
Interior Design
The main saloon is accessed through double glass doors from the aft deck. This space exudes an air of tranquility, achieved through the use of English sycamore and bird's eye maple, complemented by gray marble accents. A custom carpet from Dallas-based weaver George Kalogridis adds a touch of softness underfoot. The room is initially a conservatory, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that offer clear views over the stern. Marble-topped cabinets conceal a bar and audio-video entertainment systems. The combined saloon and dining room feature large windows and side-deck railings, providing unobstructed views from both standing and seated positions.
The octagon is a recurring design theme, most evident in the room's shape and its versatile furniture. An octagonal central couch can be reconfigured to form a conversation circle or cinema seating for the projection TV, which is hidden in the deckhead. For social events, the couch can be divided into three sections, revealing an eight-sided sycamore and marble dance floor, illuminated by underlit marble and disco lights from above.
Dining facilities are equally versatile. An eight-sided dining table, made of wood, marble, and stainless steel, can be adjusted to seat six, eight, or twelve guests. The adjacent galley, accessible through a door to port.
Accommodation
Double Haven offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites. The principal guest's stateroom, located on the upper deck, features panoramic 180-degree views and direct access to a private al fresco breakfast area. The stateroom includes a bed with integrated light switches, side tables with adjustable glass tops, and a pop-up television. The adjoining dressing room and rose-aurora marble bathroom offer both privacy and luxury, with direct access to the family room.
On the lower deck, there are four guest suites. These include two double cabins, one twin cabin, and a versatile fourth cabin. The fourth cabin can convert from a regular stateroom into a gymnasium with a massage table, steam shower, and sauna. Each cabin is equipped with its own marble-encrusted bathroom.
The crew quarters are located in the bow of the yacht and have been designed with above-average quality and size. Thoughtful details, such as the semi-circular seating and dining areas on the foredeck, provide the crew with comfortable spaces for relaxation. The crew quarters also include ample storage, a spacious laundry, and a linen room, facilitating smooth operation and maintenance of the yacht.
