Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement composite hull and a carbon fibre superstructure she features a 6.46m beam and a 1.26m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 125 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the XSR-85 design. Launched in August 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2022.

Exterior Design

Edge is a vessel that stands out due to its distinctive firey color palette, reflective of the sun's own hues. The yacht's design integrates contemporary materials with traditional woods, resulting in a striking visual profile.

The yacht's exterior spaces are thoughtfully designed to maximize enjoyment and functionality. The bow area provides an expansive space for lounging or dining, with the addition of discreet hooking points for sun awnings, allowing for adaptable shading solutions.

The aft deck is notable for its proportion and arrangement, offering a comfortable and scenic environment for al fresco dining. Steps lead down from the aft deck to a raising section at the stern, known as the 'transformer,' which serves multiple purposes including tender launch, swim ladder, and diving board. A carbon fiber shower is conveniently located here for rinsing off after a swim.

Edge is characterized by its intelligent use of space, quality materials, and a clear focus on the well-being of its guests.

Interior Design

The interior of Edge features a harmonious blend of modern materials and ancient woods, creating a distinctive and stylish aesthetic. The main salon features floor-to-ceiling windows allowing natural light to complement the interior design. The ceiling itself is a noteworthy element, incorporating hidden skylights that run along its edges, providing additional daylight while maintaining privacy.

In terms of materials, high-quality woods, metals, and textiles have been utilized throughout the yacht to ensure durability and visual appeal. The attention to detail is evident in the finishes, with even the backs of doors receiving the same level of care as more visible surfaces.

The dining area is a well-considered space that balances form and function. The arrangement of the dining table and surrounding chairs encourages interaction and enjoyment of meals, with the proximity to the main salon ensuring a sense of continuity and flow.

The galley is fitted with high-end Miele appliances and features an American-style fridge-freezer, ensuring that meal preparation is both practical and enjoyable. The choice of appliances and the thoughtful layout is indicative of the yacht's commitment to quality and functionality.

Accommodation

Accommodation aboard the yacht Edge is specifically tailored to cater to the comfort and privacy of up to eight guests. The vessel features four well-appointed suites, each designed to provide a tranquil personal haven for every occupant.

The owner's suite is positioned to maximize space and views as it spans the full beam of the yacht, with panoramic windows that invite natural light and afford sweeping vistas of the surrounding seascape.

In addition to the master suite, Edge features a VIP stateroom that embodies elegance and practicality. This suite includes generous wardrobe space, storage solutions, and a small vanity unit. The en suite facilities heighten the sense of luxury and exclusivity for guests staying in this stateroom.

For additional guests, Edge provides a flexible lower lounge area that can be converted into a stateroom as needed, providing versatility to the yacht's sleeping arrangements. This space is ideal for younger guests or as an additional entertainment area. Adjacent to this, a twin cabin offers two comfortable beds and is positioned to afford guests pleasing sea views upon waking.

Crew accommodation is also well considered, with provisions for up to four crew members. The crew quarters are situated in the bow and include two cabins, a shared head, and a modest mess area.

Performance & Capabilities

Equipped with twin diesel MAN i6-800 engines, each producing 800 horsepower, Edge is engineered to achieve a swift top speed of 21 knots. This propulsive power ensures that Edge is not only quick but also maintains a steady and comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots.

With a fuel capacity of 7,850 liters, Edge can cover a maximum range of up to 1,500 nautical miles while cruising at 12 knots. This impressive range is ideal for extended voyages, allowing guests to explore distant horizons without the frequent need to refuel.

In terms of stability, the construction and design of Edge have been carefully considered to enhance onboard comfort. The fast displacement hull form, pioneered by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, contributes to the yacht's smooth and stable ride, even when traversing rougher seas.
