Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.3m beam and a 3.25m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 750 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Tala'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in September 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
The vision of Miami-based designer Luiz DeBasto, the yacht's profile features a dynamic silhouette achieved through a continuous line ascending from the swim platform and arching upwards towards the mast, then sweeping down to the pilothouse windshield. This design choice not only imparts a forward-leaning stance but also cleverly reduces the visual bulk of the vessel's 713 gross tonnes.
The exterior spaces on Jewels are generously proportioned, catering to a variety of social settings. The Sun Deck is a prime example, equipped with a hot tub, sun-pads, a television, a day head, a bar, and expansive areas for guests to mingle or enjoy solitude.
A significant feature of the yacht is the substantial swim platform, which offers effortless access to and from tenders, enhancing the convenience and safety for guests. The platform also serves as a connection to the yacht's generous beach club, further emphasizing the vessel's thoughtful design in terms of form and function.
The lighter blue shade of the hull was chosen by the yacht's owner, bringing a contemporary flair to the overall aesthetic. The long foredeck of Jewels provides ample space for the storage of tenders and jet skis.
The yacht's design is also mindful of its operational efficiency, with no need for upsizing generators or altering the existing Heinen & Hopman HVAC system, despite the rearrangement of cabins and circulation patterns on the bridge deck.
Interior Design
The interior design of Jewels reflects a traditional aesthetic, incorporating classic elements such as teak joinery, gold inlays, and bevel-edged mirrors. Craftsmanship is a defining feature of Jewels' interior, with attention to detail evident in the high-quality finishes. The elaborate mirrors in the owner's suite required precise quality control during both design and manufacturing stages. Classic teak woodwork is complemented by decorative gold detailing, while colorful textiles add vibrancy to the spaces. The use of various stones, including the striking Giallo Siena marble on the floors, adds to the visual interest and underscores the client's desire for a traditional yacht interior.
The interior spaces are adorned with a variety of wood finishes, including walnut burrs, gloss lacquers, and mahogany, all contributing to the rich visual palette. The design incorporates elements from different historical periods, with baroque, rococo, and neoclassical influences subtly blended. Furniture details like lion heads are a recurring motif requested by the client.
Color plays a significant role in the interior atmosphere, with a distinguished theme that guides the selection of fabrics for soft furnishings and the choice of marble in the bathrooms. The color schemes of the guest cabins exhibit deep greens, rich purples, reds, and vibrant blues. The luxurious curtains, gold rope embellishments, and crystal accents under the lighting enhance the visual experience.
Accommodation
Accommodations aboard the yacht Jewels are designed to provide both privacy and comfort for a considerable number of guests. The vessel hosts up to 18 guests within its array of staterooms, encompassing a diversity of design themes and color palettes.
Located on the main deck, the owner's suite is a full-beam stateroom representing a pinnacle of the onboard guest experience. It features rich color themes and is appointed with materials such as walnut burrs and high-gloss lacquers, complemented by gold inlays in the furniture. The suite boasts heated marble floors and lavish textiles, providing a warm and inviting ambiance.
Adjacent to the owner's suite is a VIP cabin, also situated on the main deck, offering similar levels of luxury and comfort for distinguished guests. Both the owner's suite and the VIP cabin ensure a high degree of privacy and easy access to the main deck's amenities.
On the lower deck, five additional guest cabins are available, each with its own unique design elements and color schemes. One of these cabins is located in the space typically reserved for a beach club.
The bridge deck has been innovatively configured to include two additional guest cabins, an adaptation from what would have been crew quarters.
Crew accommodations are thoughtfully designed to ensure the well-being of up to 10 crew members, who are housed on the lower deck. Additionally, there is a captain's cabin located on the upper deck near the pilothouse, ensuring the captain's proximity to the vessel's command center.
