Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.9m beam and a 3.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,541 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in January 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in April 2020.

Exterior Design

Starlust boasts a modern, sporty styling that is both tasteful and eye-catching. The exterior is defined by a grey hull adorned with a red boot-stripe, contrasted by a white superstructure. This composition is accentuated by sinuous curves of black and intriguing window shapes.

The exterior design of Starlust draws inspiration from the majestic flight of an eagle. This symbolism is echoed in the yacht's design, particularly in the graceful, sweeping lines of the superstructure. A significant design feature is the unbroken line running from the bow to the bathing platform, a concept that Thomas Mühe, managing director of Focus, had been experimenting with for over a decade.

The yacht's proportions are amplified through the use of bold shapes. One such example is the black, boomerang-like curve that leads from the wheelhouse windows down to the upper deck. On the main deck, scalloped windows decrease in size towards the bow. This unique design approach gives the illusion that the individual windows are a single surface, maintaining a sense of continuity.

The exterior of Starlust is not just about aesthetics; it also caters to functional needs. The owner requested large tenders, which required Abeking & Rasmussen to adapt a crane system that could fit within the garage doors' dimensions without compromising the yacht's sleek design.

By striking the perfect balance between classic and contemporary design elements, Starlust creates an ambiance of luxury and comfort, ensuring a memorable experience for its guests.

Interior Design

Starlust offers its guests a blend of modern and classic aesthetics. Its interior design, crafted by Focus Yacht Design, captures a unique spirit of sophistication and tranquility. With the muted color palette of black, white, and browns accentuated by a few dashes of color, the interior achieves a harmonious balance between opulence and simplicity.

The yacht showcases two distinct veneers - the dark amara ebony (macassar) and light-bleached tiama. These contrasting materials dominate the interior, creating a variety of eye-catching spaces such as the main staircase. Here, the high-gloss dark macassar stairs are illuminated with custom Cantalupi fixtures, creating the illusion of backlit onyx on the steps. Depending on your vantage point, this staircase presents a different visual experience, from a bright, reflective steel handrail at the top to an inky, cool space dominated by dark high-gloss wood at the bottom.

The library on the owner's deck is another striking feature of Starlust's interior. Designed as a space for contemplation and relaxation, it offers panoramic views of the ocean through expansive 180-degree windows. This room, fitted with white leather sofas in a U-shaped layout, also transforms into a cinema with a rising TV screen. An attention-grabbing geometric bookshelf along the aft bulkhead, backlit with onyx, adds a touch of elegance to this serene space.

Each cabin in Starlust carries a unique natural theme, depicting animals or plants of special significance. These touches are found in bathrooms and cabins, on the floor, the doors, and headboards, creating a soothing connection with nature. The tastefully designed headboards, custom-made by Tai Ping, feature soaring eagles in the master suite and plant and seashell shapes in the guest cabins.

The main saloon impresses with its light installations that display the solar system, with planets positioned as they were at the moments of the birth of the owner and his wife. The dining saloon and outside chairs, designed by Focus, further enhance the yacht's charm. In addition to the custom pieces, Starlust's furnishings include pieces from Paola Lenti and Poltrona Frau.

Starlust's owner's deck was designed to offer privacy with a rear-facing bedroom that looks out over a private aft deck, while a relaxing observation lounge/library is located forward. This room provides an ideal atmosphere for guests to unwind, watch movies, or play games, surrounded by 180-degree views of the ocean.

The full-beam VIP guest cabin and the four additional guest cabins are situated on the main deck, forward of the main saloon and dining room.
