Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.28m beam and a 3.9m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 2,755 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in March 2011 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.

Exterior Design

Meridian A's exterior prioritizes discretion and privacy without compromising on the vessel's impressive volume. The design cleverly conceals guest areas and shields them from outside observation, while also masking technical spaces. The yacht's silhouette is defined by clean lines and balanced proportions, achieving a streamlined profile that belies its substantial size.

The vessel features a six-meter swimming pool and an adjacent Jacuzzi that can be covered for privacy. Overhangs extend to provide shade and to enhance privacy, contributing to the yacht's elongated appearance. At night, a combination of 39 underwater lights and deck illumination highlights the yacht's contours.

Distributed across six decks, the yacht culminates in a sun deck, which is characterized by a structure that integrates the mast and domes. The sundeck itself is a versatile area, offering a blend of leisure options including a bar, outdoor dining, and relaxation spaces. The use of glass for railings, a novel feature at the time of her construction, adds to the yacht's modern aesthetic and provides unobstructed views. The sundeck is accessible via an exterior staircase and a lift, ensuring easy movement between decks.

The yacht includes a side boarding platform that doubles as a terrace, enhancing the connection with the sea. Outdoor dining on the upper deck accommodates 20 guests, allowing for alfresco gatherings in a setting that is both sophisticated and inviting.

Meridian A's interior design combines high-quality materials, sophisticated design elements, and advanced technical features that ensure guests are surrounded by both luxury and comfort.

Interior Design

Meridian A's interior design exhibits a contemporary aesthetic with Art Deco influences. The designers have employed a palette of contrasting materials that include light timbers such as Fiddle-back sycamore and dark macassar ebony, which provide a visual balance throughout the yacht's interior spaces.

The formal dining area features a distinctive bas-relief finished in silver, crafted by DKT Artworks, which conceals a television screen. The use of real flowers incorporated into brass details on the dining room table adds a touch of natural beauty and sophistication.

In the lounge, the Schimmel Pegasus Piano, designed by Luigi Colani, stands as an iconic piece. This self-playing piano, with its ergonomic curved keyboard and hydraulically operated top, not only serves as a statement piece but also enriches the space with its crystalline sound.

The materials chosen for the interior contribute to the overall light and airy ambiance. Rare white onyx, crema marfil, travertine, and antique brown granite are among the stones used. These materials are not only chosen for their aesthetic appeal but also for their durability and ease of maintenance.

Within the wellness area, guests can find tranquility in the dedicated massage and beauty treatment room. The steam room and hammam, finished with mosaics in soothing natural colors, provide a restorative experience.

The upper deck saloon and bar feature decor with Asian inspiration, offering a distinctive cultural touch to the space. Here, guests can enjoy a range of beverages in a setting designed for comfort and sociability.

Accommodation

Meridian A offers nine cabins that can graciously accommodate up to 17 guests, ensuring a spacious and private experience for each individual onboard.

The yacht hosts an impressive owner's suite, which is a highlight of the guest accommodations. This suite is situated on the upper deck, providing a panoramic bedroom with its own private deck that includes a Jacuzzi and a dedicated area for a leisurely breakfast. The suite is designed to serve as a personal retreat within the yacht, offering exclusivity and solace from the shared spaces. The owner's suite is complemented by additional cabins on the same deck, ideal for children and a nanny, making it an impeccable choice for families.

Furthermore, the upper deck houses a second master suite, accessible through a private staircase, which brings another level of luxury and convenience to the guest experience. This suite ensures that additional guests can enjoy the comfort and privacy akin to that of the owner's accommodation.

On the main deck, guests will find three more beautifully designed suites, each crafted to provide a serene and inviting atmosphere. The lower deck accommodates two additional guest cabins, completing the array of sleeping quarters available to those aboard Meridian A.

In terms of crew accommodation, the vessel is staffed by a dedicated crew of 27, who are discreetly housed to ensure the highest level of service while maintaining the privacy of guests.

Performance & Capabilities

Meridian A is powered by two robust 2000kW MTU 16V4000 engines, enabling her to achieve a top speed of 17 knots. When cruising at a more moderate pace of 12 knots, she boasts an impressive range of 6,000 nautical miles, allowing for extended transoceanic voyages without the need for frequent refueling stops.

The engineering space is a two-level engine room, thoughtfully laid out to facilitate maintenance and ensure the smooth running of all onboard systems.

The yacht's technical capabilities are further enhanced by advanced stabilization systems that contribute to the comfort of all aboard. Among these systems are two Quantum fin stabilizers, which are crucial for minimizing the roll motion both while the yacht is underway and when it is stationary—often referred to as 'at rest stabilization'. This feature is particularly beneficial as it allows guests to enjoy a more stable and pleasant experience, even when the yacht is not moving, such as when anchored in a serene bay.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Rest and relaxation can be achieved on board, thanks to a luxury spa and massage room. Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down and an elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
