Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 68'3" beam and a 14'9" draft. The yacht is built over 7 decks with an internal volume of 13,136 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Construction started in mid 2011 with the keel laid under the project name 'Azzam'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in April 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2013.

Exterior Design

Measuring an imposing 180m (593ft) in length, Azzam's sleek profile maintains a sense of balance and proportion that can be challenging to achieve in a vessel of this class.

The design philosophy behind Azzam's striking appearance is grounded in the principles of modern architecture; her silhouette is delineated by straight lines and balanced volumes that contribute to an overall aesthetic that is as contemporary as it is timeless.

Pedol takes pride in the fact that observers often remark on Azzam's deceptive size, noting that her proportions convey a yacht smaller than her actual length. This illusion is due to the designer's skill in creating a harmonious visual experience that draws the eye along her fluid lines without overwhelming. The result is a floating masterpiece that captures the essence of Nauta Design's commitment to creating vessels that are visually arresting and fundamentally sound in their naval architecture.

Holding the crown for the world’s longest yacht for almost a decade, 180m (593ft) Azzam is also one of the fastest superyachts on the planet, reaching impressive speeds in excess of 30 knots.

Interior Design

Delving into the interior of the superyacht Azzam, the ambiance is reflective of the turn-of-the-century Empire style. Especially seen in the use of rich wooden furnishings, along with mother-of-pearl inlays and elaborate marquetry. French designer Christophe Leoni, known for his architectural work, orchestrated the intricate interior design, which harmonizes with the owner's existing properties. The level of craftsmanship within Azzam's confines articulates a narrative of elegance and exclusivity.

Within the hull of Azzam lies a main salon of epic proportions, extending 29 meters in length and spanning the full 18-meter beam of the superyacht. This grand space is a marvel of engineering achieved through an open-plan layout devoid of obstructive pillars, creating an uninterrupted area for socialising.

The amenities onboard Azzam cater to both the leisure and wellness of her guests. A unique feature is the golf practice room, just one of the vessel's recreational features.

Accommodation

Grandeur defines the guest accommodation aboard the superyacht Azzam, a vessel that redefined the benchmarks of opulence and sophistication upon her launch. With an impressive beam of 20.80 meters, Azzam provides spacious accommodation for up to 36 guests in 18 suites.

Azzam also accommodates a crew of 80 onboard and an additional 60 staff members in 30 cabins, who ensure seamless service and operations throughout the yacht.

Performance & Capabilities

Azzam is powered by two 26MW gas turbines and two 9MW MTU diesel engines, combining to provide an astonishing 94,000 horsepower. This powerhouse enables Azzam to reach a top speed of 34 knots, an incredible feat for a yacht of her size, making her one of the fastest yachts of her class. Her propulsion system, which includes the use of pump jets in place of traditional propellers, allows for efficient navigation even in shallow waters, with a draft of just 4.30 meters.

Azzam's remarkable speed does not come at the cost of range or comfort. The innovative engineering ensures that despite her swift capabilities, guests aboard will experience a smooth and pleasurable journey. The yacht is designed to be comfortable in the warm waters and high temperatures characteristic of the Gulf region.

Azzam has been equipped with state-of-the-art stabilization systems to ensure maximum comfort for guests, even at high speeds or in rough sea conditions.

Azzam is a carefully curated experience, designed to reflect the distinct tastes and requirements of her owner.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Rest and relaxation can be achieved on board, thanks to a luxury spa. In addition, a swim platform is on hand for guests looking to cool off in the sea. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort and an elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible. Azzam also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
