Azimut has launched the second unit of its flagship trideck superyacht the 38m (124.6ft) Grande Trideck.
Sporting an innovative ‘three decks, plus one’ design, which creates a visual effect of cascading terraces, the second Grande Trideck is set to cruise the Mediterranean seas, between Italy, Greece and Turkey. It will follow in the footsteps of the inaugural hull which was delivered during the Monaco Grand Prix in May.
The Italian builder revealed its largest ever yacht in an online unveil earlier this year, with the 299GT motor yacht being Azimut’s first-ever triple-decker build. Exterior designer Alberto Mancini, added an additional mezzanine style aft deck in the stern, to create the ‘three-deck, plus one’ effect.
As well as creating a unique sea view terrace in the form of a private patio space in the cockpit, the mezzanine deck also creates space for a full height, 30 square-meter (323 sq. ft) beach club below. The interiors come from the pen of Achille Salvagni and offer what the yard is calling “a redefinition of the role of space”.
The Grande Trideck utilizes a Displacement to Planing hull developed by Pierluigi Ausonio of Studio Plana in collaboration with the Azimut|Benetti R&D Department and features extensive use of carbon fiber to laminate upper parts of the yacht, which offers significant weight savings. In terms of propulsion, there is the option of twin MTUs of 2400hp or 2600 hp each.
Presenting further evidence of the booming superyacht industry at present the Grande Trideck proved popular before it was even presented to the market, with five units pre-sold. The first of which, SHABBY, has already been delivered. It forms part of Azimut’s Grande Collection, its largest motor yacht range.
