Launched at the Benetti Livorno facility on January 26, superyacht hull FB283 is the first unit from Benetti to feature the iconic fast-displacement hull form (FDHF) designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
Enjoying plenty of success with Dutch yard, Heesen, on yachts like the 5000 Aluminium FDHF range, the FDHF hull on the new Benetti model will engage new levels of efficiency for the brand, plus optimal performance for smooth voyages.
Represented by Nicola Nicolai, from Nicolai Yacht Consulting & Project Management, the owners created a brief asking for a family-friendly superyacht that also combined exceptional specifications for long-range travel, speed and minimal noise disruption.
Featuring interior and exterior design input from long-term collaborator Giorgio Cassetta, superyacht FB283 marks the 33rd project between Benetti and Cassetta, with striking parallel sweeps of 6x2m glazing running along both the main and upper decks and a convenient touch-and-go helipad on the bow.
Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, FB283 is said to have a great selection of different wood and stone elements around the exteriors, along with a spacious tender garage on the upper deck that can hold two tenders and a pair of Jet Skis.
Interiors for FB283 are yet to be fully disclosed, however, Benetti has revealed that there are large social spaces onboard ideal for social entertaining and family fun.
Predicting top speeds of 21 knots, FB283 looks to have a range of 4,500 nautical miles and a beam of 10.5m (34.44ft).
