Feadship unveil images of 84m superyacht OBSIDIAN embarking on her sea trials

Feadship has revealed images of the striking 84m (276ft) superyacht OBSIDIAN making her way to the North Sea for her sea trials ahead of final outfitting stages.

Departing from the Feadship facilities at Alsmeer in the Netherlands, OBSIDIAN, previously known as Project 710, will be rigorously tested in regard to her performance capabilities, safety features plus equipment, and installations.

Entering her outfitting stages in April 2023, the 2,555 GT superyacht boasts a bold and dominant profile, with all the grace and quality we've come to expect from the Feadship brand.

Constructed out of steel and aluminum, OBSIDIAN has a plumb bow and linear stretches of tinted glazing for optimal aesthetic appeal and privacy for guests onboard.

Featuring exterior design and naval architecture collaboration with renowned design firm RWD, OBSIDIAN stands out with a masculine metallic gray hull with sweeping teak accents for a unique and quirky look.

Packed with eco-friendly innovations, OBSIDIAN offers a 90% reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases, thanks to her systems being able to run on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). Also capable of capitalizing on the waste heat from the custom variable speed generators and air conditioner chiller, the superyacht can redirect that heat to the AC system, pool water, and engine preheating and more.

Many details are yet to be revealed, however, we can disclose that among the facilities onboard, OBSIDIAN features a captivating observation lounge on her bow complete with double-curved glass floor-to-ceiling windows for outstanding views of every destination, an Aqua Lounge in the stern for unbeatable underwater vistas, an indulgent, formal dining area that opens up to the fresh sea air and ample alfresco environments to relax, dine and make the most of the waves.

Anticipating delivery late 2023, OBSIDIAN is not currently listed for sale, however, if you're interested in creating your own dream yacht, take a look at the comprehensive Yacht Buyer guide on how to build a custom yacht.
