First Look: Full Custom Amels 120 arrives in Vlissingen

Providing a first look at the mysterious 120m (393ft) megayacht with Amels 477 adorning her bow, yacht enthusiasts were treated to a first glance at one of the biggest builds to hit the water in 2023 so far.

Welcomed to the Damen Yachting facilities in Vlissingen, Netherlands, ahead of her final outfitting, the 120m masterpiece had her launch last month at the Amels facility at Galati, Romania, during a private ceremony for the owner, construction teams and a collection of local school children.

Sporting a striking five-deck collaborative exterior design between renowned designer Espen Øino and the in-house team at Damen Yachting for the naval architecture, not all design efforts have been disclosed at this time, with interior concepts and the designer still shrouded in mystery.

Set to become the new Amels flagship on delivery, the steel superyacht has set high expectations as she now prepares to commence her final construction phase.

Currently scheduled for a 2025 delivery, she will be powered by diesel-electric engines with Azipod® electric propulsion, aiming to significantly reduce the impact she has on the surrounding environment and reportedly emitting the lowest noise and vibration to ever be recorded on a yacht of this size.

Combined with the installation of the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art technology, she is certainly going to be a force to be reckoned with.

To see her on the water here in Vlissingen is a testament to the entire team. We look forward to this next stage as we transform her into our future flagship.

Amels

As the largest yacht to be built by Amels to date, there's a lot of anticipation as to what she has in store for her guests.

So far we know that she will have five connected decks and incredible sweeping views from the main and upper decks, thanks to the elongated stretches of glazing.

Reflecting on her first appearance, we can see that the Amels 120 will have touch and go helipad on the foredeck plus a spacious beach club, and potentially a fold-down balcony for a main deck master cabin.
