Grand Banks 62 Revealed by Grand Banks Yachts

Featuring V-Warp Technology, the Grand Banks 62 ensures efficiency and a smooth ride.

Grand Banks Yachts has unveiled the Grand Banks 62, a model that combines speed and range, and builds on the success of the Grand Banks 60, launched in 2017.

The 62's additional interior volume allows for an enlarged starboard guest stateroom with an athwartships double bed and a single, plus a utility area with a washer/dryer. An ensuite head has been added to the starboard guest cabin, creating a three-stateroom, three-head layout.

The amidships master stateroom offers a king bed, ensuite head with a large shower, ample storage, natural light through ports, and an overhead hatch. Forward, the VIP stateroom features a queen berth, ample storage, and a dedicated head.

On the main deck, large opening windows provide natural light to the saloon, helm area, and aft galley. The line of sight from the lower helm and companion helm to port ensures easy handling in all conditions. Several interior accommodation plans are also available, including a Skylounge model, which proved popular on the Grand Banks 85.

Grand Banks Yachts has evolved into a custom builder over the last 10 years, with the advantages and scale of a production builder. We enjoy working with our owners to realize their dreams and vision.”

Richards' ocean-racing and shipwright experience inspired the development of the V-Warp Technology, featuring a fine entry, curvature amidships, and minimal deadrise at the transom. The hull is built with a precise resin-to-E-Glass ratio, resulting in a strong, fast, and efficient form. It is fused directly to the carbon fiber structure, bulkheads, deck, and superstructure, ensuring superior fuel efficiency and performance.

With a top speed in the mid-30-knot range and a high cruise speed of 28 knots, it offers outstanding performance for long-distance voyages. Owners can achieve a range of 2,000nm at 10 knots with a 10% reserve. At a cruising speed of 20 knots, the yacht burns only 121 liters per hour (32 gallons per hour), thanks to the V-Warp Technology hull, which helps to maintain a smooth running attitude at about 6° for maximum efficiency and speed.

Standard power includes twin Volvo D13 engines rated at 900hp each, with Twin Disc MGX 5096A marine transmissions. Optional upgrades include twin Volvo D13s at 1,000hp each or Volvo IPS 1200S at 900hp each.
