Grand Banks has announced that the latest addition to its range, the Grand Banks 54, will make its German debut at Boot Dusseldorf in January.
The 18.1m (59ft) yacht is the second model launched in its new, completely redesigned range of trawler yachts. It features a re-engineered, semi-displacement hull inspired by ocean racing yachts, as explained by CEO of Grand Banks, Mark Richards:
“The new Grand Banks 54 is an incredibly versatile platform, with quality and performance second to none. It encapsulates our commitment to building the ultimate yachts on the water today, and with our focus on fuel-efficiency and sustainability, I think it will come to define what is expected of yachting in the years to come,” he says.
“Driven in large part from my experience and involvement in high-end sail racing – from the America’s Cup to the Sydney To Hobart – and the tacit knowledge and passion of our team at the factory yards, we’ve worked really hard to ensure our build techniques, designs and material selection are cutting-edge.”

A standard engine package of twin 725-horsepower Volvo Penta D11s offers a range exceeding 1200nm at 10 knots, and a cruising range of 588nm at 21 knots.
The motor yacht also features advanced composite construction techniques, including a fully infused fiberglass hull and infused carbon fiber decks and superstructure. The resulting weight savings move the vertical center of gravity lower to provide increased comfort and stability at sea.
The first hull of the Grand Banks 54 features a two stateroom, galley down layout, however there is also the option for a third stateroom by bringing the galley up to the salon. Both layouts benefit from a large salon seating area.
The Grand Banks 54 made its global debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September and is now set for Boot Dusseldorf, the biggest indoor boat show in the world gathering together thousands of exhibitors across 230,000 square meters of space. The 2022 edition of the show will run from 22 January to 30 January at Messe Dusseldorf. If you are considering attending read YachtBuyer’s guide to Boot Dusseldorf 2022.
