Set to be located at the Rijeka maritime station, the gateway to the Croatian Islands is poised to become an even greater superyacht hub with 260 berths proposed. Lürssen, known for building some of the world’s biggest yachts, is a key player in this expansion.
Scheduled to open its doors in 2025, the engineering facility has plans to delve into a host of research and testing areas, including “technologies for the reuse of waste to be transformed into energy sources.”
The importance of Lürssen's entry into the Rijeka area highlights the importance of the capital as a centre of excellence in the national maritime industry.
