Sat tantalisingly close to the Intracoastal Waterway, Lake Worth Lagoon creates a suitably salty backdrop for the Palm Beach event. Annually attracting over 55,000 visitors, 2023 saw plenty of global debuts, some major superyachts and plenty of live music before and after dark.
A laid-back show culture flowed across visitors and exhibitors alike at Palm Beach, which, despite enjoying an ever more impressive yacht line-up, continues to be the most inviting and accessible of yacht shows. It may also explain why Palm Beach attracts so many yacht owners.
This year's edition welcomed many outstanding superyachts that have been well received by the American market, and our team on the ground got straight to the heart of the action to find YachtBuyer's top picks of the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show.
DB9
Bold, masculine outside, calm and elegant within, DB9 from Palmer Johnson is a 52.36m (172ft) masterpiece built in 2010. Showcasing beautiful design by Nuvolari Lenard, she was last refitted in 2020 and has a maximum speed of 30 knots with a range of 3400 nautical miles.
PAPA
One of the finest examples of the hugely popular 180 superyacht from Amels, PAPA is also the youngest example on the market. Timeless exterior styling by Tim Heywood Design and captivating interiors by Laura Sessa Romboli combine to stunning effect, the optional five cabin layout here creating a massively impressive main deck owner's stateroom. With an LOA of 54.9m (180ft), PAPA has an effortless, timeless appeal we have come to expect from this best-selling model.
Quantum of Solace
The only Westport 50m on the market also happened to be one of the finest made. With stunning designs throughout by Donald Starkey, Quantum Of Solace is a semi-custom tri-deck that embodies the perfect example of premium Westport craftsmanship. Refitted in 2022, she has an LOA of 49.99m (164ft) and feels even bigger, particularly the huge sundeck with its Jacuzzi and bar area.
Pipe Dream
A second hot pick from Westport, Pipe Dream is a 2013 build with an LOA of 39.62m (130ft). Though smaller than Quantum of Solace, she oozes charm and prestige with exterior styling by Gregory Marshall. Interiors reflect a traditional nautical environment with plenty of wood and natural hues throughout. If you're looking for a superyacht with classic motor yacht charm and a modern twist, Pipe Dream is a great match.
CALEX
Iconic exterior styling by Giorgio Cassetta and elegant interior design from the in-house team at Benetti, CALEX is a 67m (220ft) custom expedition yacht spanning four decks with everything you could possibly need for a transoceanic voyage. We think this might be the best Benetti yet over 50m, with cool linear lines allied to an elegant seven-cabin interior that includes a spectacular owner's stateroom and private foredeck. CALEX was built in 2022 and has a maximum speed of 16 knots.
ARROW
A beautiful superyacht with exterior and interior design penned by renowned firm H2 Yacht Design, ARROW is a custom-built yacht from Feadship. Built in 2020, ARROW has an impressive range of 7278 nautical miles and features a stunning beach club complete with fold-down balconies on either side of the hull. With an LOA of 75m (246ft), she is the image of grace and elegance.
FLAG
Measuring up at 62.3m (204ft), FLAG is a sophisticated superyacht, again from Feadship, that boasts exterior design and engineering by De Voogt, along with interiors by RWD. Comprising of four decks and with an ultra-modern stabilization system fitted, which reduces the roll motion effect, FLAG is a stunning yacht through and through with wooden accents and an abundance of luxury amenities.
