Phathom Design reveals 60m concept with huge glass atrium

The new design concept is influenced by the studio’s 2019 Phathom 80m concept, with its centerpiece being a three-level glass atrium.

Phathom Design has revealed its eponymously named 60m (197ft) superyacht concept, complete with an unconventional layout and an eye-catching, three-storey atrium.

The Phathom 60m concept comes three years after the Dutch studio unveiled its debut Phathom 80m concept, with the new concept borrowing much from its larger sibling. In fact, the latest design came about at the request of a client who was looking for the amenities of its predecessor in a smaller package.

Most notably both concepts feature a unique pool deck to aft where the pool connects directly to the swim platform. The pool area doubles up as a home for the 7m (23ft) tender when empty, with a large crane hidden under the deck lifting it in and out of the space. The surrounding bulwarks also fold out to create a vast open space.

Glass is a feature well used throughout the concept, particularly in the three-level, indoor-outdoor atrium which extends from the main deck aft up to the sundeck. The split-level Owner’s apartment also benefits from extensive glazing with multi-deck windows and a glass balcony that looks down onto a lounge area and study below.

The glass-encased sundeck is home to a gym and spa, and an alfresco galley which is one of numerous lounging and dining areas spread across Phathom’s four floors.
