The second Amels 200 hit the water in the Netherlands over the Easter weekend after the team at Amels and Damen Yachting confirmed her sale. This follows the launch of the inaugural hull of the new line in February.
The 60m (197ft) second hull of the Amels 200 is part of the Dutch builder’s Limited Editions range and is an evolution of the Amels 188. She has much in common with her predecessor, sharing the same high volume and hybrid electrical power technology, and the four-deck elevator and air-conditioned gym on her sun deck.
Where she makes the most of her extra size is in the larger aft decks and swim platform, along with full-height windows in the Owners Suite.
She features the exterior design of long-term Amels collaborator Tim Heywood, whilst the custom interiors come from Ancona-based design studio Luxury Projects.
Laura Pomponi, CEO and founder of the studio, shared her excitement on the culmination of the studio’s hard work with the launch of the yacht, said: “It’s been four exciting years, and a true pleasure working with the Amels and Damen Yachting team, where the professionalism, the perfection, the dedication to the product is simply amazing. It’s wonderful to see her launched and ready for the final phase before delivery to her new Owner.”
Amels and Damen Yachting sales manager Jorrit Pilaar, who has been involved in the project throughout the sales and build process, added. "We are delighted to have sold Amels 200-02 and also to be able to mark the occasion with her launch. The collaboration with all parties involved have contributed to reaching this wonderful milestone and the success of the project. I look forward to seeing the final stages come together and delivering her to her Owner later this year.”
The 1,015 Gross Tonne superyacht will now undergo the final stages of her outfitting ahead of her delivery this summer.
The Amels 200 is part of its popular Limited Editions range, from which more than 40 yachts have been delivered since 2007.
One of the main advantages of this semi-custom built yacht series is that it offers a blend of custom and platform build techniques that can reduce delivery time from years to as little as a few months.
The next 24 months look like being a busy period for Amels with at least ten yachts set for delivery. These include the first two hulls of the Amels 60, which Damen Yachting is calling ‘the shape of the future’.
To help you see how the Amels 200 stacks up against its rivals we have prepared a series of detailed head-to-head comparisons against its competitors.
