On Deck

The cockpit features an infinity transom next to the seating area.  There are stern-berthing controls, engine access and a small bar area serves this area. Steps lead down to the bathing platform.

The seating area on the foredeck, the anchor locker, and the views from the front of the yacht are showcased. The flybridge is found to be a good size and well-equipped. The wet bar and barbecue area are conveniently located to serve the seating area. He also points out twin hand seats, throttle controls, and the IPS joystick at the helm.

Interior

The boat has an aft-galley layout, which is very typical of Absolute. While everything on the boat is smaller, it still carries all the major features of Absolute's larger boats. He shows us the cooking facilities, the storage, and the fridge and freezer which are neatly tucked away. Particularly impressive is the dedicated storage for crockery and glasses, preventing them from getting knocked around during a voyage.

In the saloon area, Nick admires the versatility of the table, which can serve as a dining table or a coffee table. He comments positively on the dark and light finishes in the boat's interior, a signature of Absolute's aesthetic. From the helm position, there are twin seats with drop bolsters, multifunction displays, wheel, throttles, and IPS joystick.

Descending to the lower deck, the owner's cabin is located in the bow. He particularly likes the large windows, which offer a superb view, and the ample storage. The ensuite features pocket doors, which slide into the bulkhead rather than swinging out, saving space. He also mentions two more cabins on the lower deck, each with shared heads. One of the cabins is full beam in size, which is typically the size of an owner's cabin on a boat this size.

Crew Accommodation

There is an occassional crew cabin, which can also be used as a small overflow cabin perfect for overnight guests. The cabin area also includes a toilet, shower, and storage.

Performance

The engine space houses Volvo Penta D8 IPS-800s, which are 600 horsepower each and can propel the boat to about 30 knots. The range can be up to 200 to 220 miles at cruising speeds and up to 500 miles at displacement speeds. He also points out the Seakeeper gyrostabilizer in the engine room.

In Summary

Overall, Nick seems highly impressed with the Absolute 52 FLY. He appreciates its clever layout, ample features, and neat finishes. He also notes that, despite its smaller size, the yacht doesn't lack any of the significant features found on Absolute's larger vessels.
