Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.9m beam and a 2.45m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 494 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2020. This was the first yacht built on the C144s design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in October 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in January 2023.
Exterior Design
Ace's profile is distinguished by its dynamic lines and a striking contrast of black and white hues, which lends it a visually impactful silhouette.
The near-vertical bow, a signature element in the design, not only contributes to the Ace's distinctive appearance but also enhances its seakeeping capabilities. This design choice has practical benefits as well, providing substantial volume for crew accommodations and contributing to the yacht's robust and dynamic appearance.
A noteworthy feature is the yacht's lowered bulwarks adjacent to the saloons, a deliberate move to augment the views from within and strengthen the connection to the sea. The superstructure itself boasts 'rolling wave' forms that add to the yacht's elegant and contemporary character.
Ace's sundeck extends nearly 25 meters (82 ft) in length, offering a generous space for outdoor relaxation and entertainment. It features a recessed pool designed not to obstruct the panoramic views, a sizeable bar, and an outdoor cinema screen that retracts into the ceiling when not in use. The use of a micromosaic made from recycled glass in the pool area is an example of the thoughtful design considerations that permeate the yacht.
The yacht's windows are not only large but also serve as a design element in their own right, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the yacht. The combination of the yacht's color scheme, window shapes, and the superstructure's sculpted lines results in an exterior that is both stylish and functional.
Interior Design
The design team has employed a palette of soft grays, complemented by the warm tones of oak wood, to create an environment that is both sophisticated and welcoming. The use of nubuck, a durable and buffable leather, along with back-painted glass tile and strategic metallic accents, offers a contemporary aesthetic that exudes quiet sophistication.
Throughout Ace, bespoke Minotti sofas grace the main saloon, embodying the design's minimalistic approach. Lighting fixtures from Luce5 paired with Lutron controls ensure that illumination is both practical and atmospheric, enhancing the yacht's modern charm. The design team's commitment to detail is evident in the air conditioning vents, which have been finished with a thin wood laminate to ward off rust from condensation.
In the galley, practicality takes precedence. Designed as a closed space to maintain privacy and efficiency, it includes essential amenities such as a proper laundry, a cold room, and high-end culinary equipment.
Accommodation
Guests are welcomed across five suites, designed to accommodate up to ten individuals. The owner's cabin, situated on the main deck, and features a subtle palette and materials that evoke a sense of calm. Concealed speakers enveloped in fabric integrate with the interior. Ace also offers an additional four VIP cabins.
Ace's capacity extends beyond guest areas, as the vessel is also configured to support a complement of nine crew members.
Performance & Capabilities
Ace's houses twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines, which are well-regarded for their dependable performance and fuel efficiency. These engines empower Ace to cruise effortlessly at a speed of 14 knots, offering a harmonious blend of velocity and economy. The speed is well-suited for guests who value both relaxed cruising and the ability to cover distances expediently.
With fuel tanks holding 51,300 liters, Ace boasts an impressive maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles when traveling at an economic speed of 10 knots. This extensive range allows for extended exploration without the interruptions of frequent refueling, providing more uninterrupted time at sea and the opportunity to reach distant horizons.
To ensure the utmost comfort on board, Ace is equipped with state-of-the-art stabilizers. These systems are essential for minimizing the motion of the yacht, providing a tranquil environment for guests, even when the ocean presents a more challenging demeanor.
Amenities
Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht and an inviting spread of sunpads.
