Feadship’s 101m Superyacht Moonrise Nears Completion in Amsterdam

The 101m superyacht Moonrise has arrived in Amsterdam for her final outfitting phase ahead of sea trials and a scheduled delivery this July.

The custom Feadship superyacht, previously known as Project 1013, has been under construction since 2021 and was first spotted in the water in October 2023 following the launch of her hull and superstructure at the Zwijnenburg yard.

Evolution of a Flagship Design

This new Moonrise draws clear inspiration from her namesake predecessor launched in 2020, the 100m superyacht Moonrise, sharing many of the same design foundations. Studio De Voogt returns for the exterior styling, which retains a similar profile with clean, masculine lines, a powerful near-vertical bow, and a striking grey and snow-white hull finish. Inside, Rémi Tessier has once again been entrusted with the interior design, now refined further with updated materials and features.

Although the new build pays tribute to the earlier Moonrise, it introduces several notable advances. A standout feature is the removal of traditional domes for VSAT and TVRO antennas, replaced by integrated Starlink satellite receivers. This adjustment marks a first for Feadship and is intended to streamline connectivity while enhancing the yacht’s overall aesthetic.

A Focus on Lifestyle and Quiet Cruising

The yacht's deck spaces have been significantly developed, including a larger sundeck that incorporates a massage area, fully-equipped gym, and hairdressing salon. Twin staircases connect the aft deck to an extended swim platform, offering an inviting transition between deck levels. Additional guest features include a dedicated owner's deck and a private cinema on the bridge deck.

Feadship has also prioritised acoustic comfort. Specially engineered propellers and appendages, along with what is believed to be the first fully resilient-mounted anchor winch foundation, work together to reduce both underwater and onboard noise levels. Optimised chain routing supports this effort, contributing to a quieter and more relaxing onboard experience.

Engineering and Structure

Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Moonrise has an estimated gross tonnage of of 4,000GT. Her sleek exterior is matched by expansive glazed areas, which are expected to flood the interiors with natural light. Shell doors along the lower deck hint at extensive storage for tenders and toys, with access provided via a side-loading garage amidships and a secondary garage located forward.

Upon completion, Moonrise will rank as the sixth largest yacht in Feadship’s portfolio, a position she will hold until Feadship 1014 yacht takes her place in 2026.
