The 79.95m superyacht, described as a modern gentleman’s yacht, has now emerged from the construction shed and is set to undergo final outfitting and sea trials before delivery later this year.
Built with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, Project 714 has an estimated volume of gross tonnage of 2,500GT. The exterior, designed by British studio RWD, exhibits sculpted curves and a striking blue hull, giving the vessel a contemporary yet timeless appeal. Her elegant silhouette is accentuated by expansive windows along the main deck, hinting at spacious and light-filled interiors.

The first glimpses of Project 714 reveal Feadship’s signature design language, including a subtle clipper bow and expansive deck spaces. The yacht’s colour scheme bears similarities to the 76m Feadship One, signalling a lineage of distinctive blue-hulled vessels from the Dutch builder.
Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects has overseen the naval architecture, ensuring that the yacht’s sleek aesthetics are matched by high-performance engineering. Project 714 incorporates advanced hydrodynamic efficiency, achieved through extensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. This has optimised her hull form, pods, and propellers to minimise vibration and increase onboard comfort.

A standout feature of Project 714 is her state-of-the-art propulsion system, developed through the Feadship Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED) program. Sharing key technological advances with the 84.2-metre Obsidian, she features a diesel-electric hybrid power system with 4.5 times the electrical storage capacity of Feadship’s first hybrid yacht, Savannah. The propulsion and steering are managed by two contra-rotating thrusters, eliminating the need for traditional drive shafts and rudders. This not only reduces drag but also significantly improves efficiency and manoeuvrability.

Since construction began in early 2021, details about Project 714 have been kept largely confidential. The yacht was first seen at the SLOB facility in Papendrecht in October 2023 before being transported to Aalsmeer for completion. Now, with her launch complete, she is entering the final stages of commissioning before her anticipated delivery.

Project 714 is part of a busy period for Feadship, which currently has more than a dozen yachts in build, according to YachtBuyer Market Watch. This includes the 101m Project 1014 and the 100m Project 824, both of which are expected to launch later this year.
