- Shallow draft for Bahamas cruising
- Hot tub on flybridge
- Features an open bridge design
Design & Construction
Designed around a modified v-hull GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.4m beam and a 1.4m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 120 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the sixty-fourth yacht built on the 80 SC design.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Aphrodite reflects a functional and straightforward approach. The yacht features a spoon bow, which contributes to its performance in various sea conditions. The hull and superstructure are uniformly painted white, providing a clean and cohesive look. The boot top and below-the-waterline areas are painted black, creating a sharp contrast with the upper sections of the vessel.
The flybridge includes a wide-open area at the aft, which, thanks to a concealed davit integrated into the bulwark, remains uncluttered. This allows for extensive sun pad space, enhancing the overall utility of the area. Forward of this space, there is a modest seating area equipped with an umbrella for shade, suitable for casual dining or gathering with friends.
On the starboard side of the flybridge, a reconditioned hot tub adds a recreational element, while the port side features a functional bar area. This bar includes essential amenities such as an ice maker, wet bar, and grill, making it well-suited for hosting and entertaining guests. The flybridge is completed with a helm station featuring modern navigation and electronic systems, all designed for ease of use.
The bow area is straightforward, with a designated sound system zone and ample storage beneath the sun pads. This area provides a quiet space for relaxation, away from the main social areas. The bow design includes standard features like the anchor, chute, and windlass, maintaining a practical and straightforward layout.
The aft deck is designed with practicality in mind, offering a good balance of seating and storage. The bench seating includes storage underneath, and the area is shaded by an overhang. This section is equipped with a backup station for easier docking and a molded-in sound system paired with a TV, enhancing the usability of the space.
The swim platform, added two years ago, increases the functionality of the yacht by freeing up space on the flybridge and facilitating easier access to the water for tenders and jet skis.
Interior Design
The interior design of Aphrodite balances functionality and elegance with practical use of space and high-quality materials. The galley is designed with efficiency in mind, featuring granite countertops, a flush cooktop, and a full-size refrigerator. This area also includes a trash compactor and a new dishwasher. The design ensures that the galley not only meets the culinary needs of its occupants but also offers a layout that maximizes space and usability.
The helm station on the flybridge is equipped with advanced navigation and control systems, including Garmin displays and Simrad cameras. The helm chairs are ergonomic and designed for comfort during long periods of navigation. The inclusion of the ISIS monitoring system provides real-time updates on the yacht’s systems, ensuring that the captain has all necessary information at hand.
The salon is spacious and well-lit, thanks to large windows that provide ample natural light. The furniture is loose, allowing for customization according to personal taste. The formal dining area is defined by pillars and provides seating for six, with sufficient storage for cutlery and dishware in the surrounding cabinetry. The millwork package has been reconditioned, ensuring that the wood finishes are in excellent condition.
Accommodation
Aphrodite can accommodate up to 10 guests across five well-appointed staterooms. The master suite is a spacious full-beam stateroom located aft. It features a king-sized bed with full walk-around access, built-in nightstands, a makeup desk, and a walk-in closet. The en-suite bathroom is notably large for a yacht of this size, providing a luxurious retreat with all necessary amenities.
Forward of the master suite, there are two mirror-image guest cabins. Each of these cabins includes a queen-sized bed, a full walk-around layout, and its own en-suite bathroom. These cabins are designed to offer comfort and convenience, ensuring that guests feel right at home.
The crew area is located forward and consists of two cabins. The captain's quarters feature a larger berth, a desk that doubles as an office, and an en-suite bathroom. Adjacent to this is a bunk room, ideal for additional crew members or younger guests, which also includes its own en-suite bathroom.
