"Discover Boating" at the Miami International Boat Show

From Valentine’s Day through to Sunday 18 February, Miami Beach will buzz with boats, yachts, watersports, tenders and toys, and all things nautical at one of the world’s largest yachting events.

Over 1,000 exhibitors from all corners of the globe will meet in Miami and participate in an event that creates an estimated $1.3 billion in economic impact.

If you are gearing up to visit the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, the key element is to plan your trip.

Only through preparation and planning can you truly make the most of the show. Think about what you want to see, and what you want to do, and strategically plan your ports of call.

Take some time to review the show's information; the website has all the information about the exhibitors, where to find them, optimal visiting times, ports of refuge (for comfort breaks), and valuable contact details for the brokers representing the boats you want to step onboard.

The Weekenders

Seeking a small family cruiser for weekend getaways? Then head to South Beach where the Miami Beach Convention Centre will be brimming with boats under 15m/49ft. For existing boat owners looking to upgrade navigation equipment, buy a new bimini, or enhance electronics this is the go-to spot with all accessories and boat-related retail in this sector.

Pump up the Power

For powerboats and cruisers from 9m-38m (30ft-125ft, Downtown Miami is the premier destination to experience the best on offer within the two industry sectors.

Head to Venetian Marina, located near Downtown, where over 150 boats will be in the water and ready for test drives. This is where advanced planning becomes crucial. Brokers and dealers will only cast off lines for serious players in the yacht buyers market. Simply showing up for a leisurely spin around the bay will not get you to the point of kicking your shoes off and stepping onboard. Respect the brokers' time at the show - they are there to sell boats so a flight of fancy would be a disservice to their valuable time. If you are genuinely interested establish a contact in advance of the show; schedule an appointment and set realistic expectations.

Remaining in the Downtown area, sailing enthusiasts can explore the offerings at Museum Park Marina where sailing yachts, catamarans, and all things canvas will be on display.

Sunreef Yachts will host the US Premier of the 70 Sunreef Power catamaran at the show. The power cat boats an expansive living space of 304m2 (3,272ft2), is fully customizable, features an energy-saving air conditioning system, the lightest battery banks in the industry, and comes complete with unique composite integrated solar panels.

The stunning 70ft eco power catamaran will be displayed at Herald Plaza, while two Sunreef sailing catamarans will show at Museum Park Marina.

The largest and most luxurious yachts for sale will be experienced at Yacht Haven Grande Miami. As you can imagine, access to this exclusive event area must be pre-arranged and only holders of special tickets - the Windward VIP ticket or the SuperYacht ticket - will be granted entry.
