Delivered in 2003, Calypso is a 61.5m motor yacht for sale built by Dutch shipyard Amels. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Michael Leach, while Amels is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.6m beam and a 3.7m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,149 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Calypso boasts a sleek profile, with a white hull and superstructure accented by a striking black bootstrap along the waterline, adding a bold contrast. The yacht's design features a deeply raked bow leading to an elongated foredeck, dominated by a prominent light mast. This area serves primarily as a functional space, housing storage for the tender, a launching crane, and anchoring equipment, with wide openings in the gunwales adding a distinctive architectural element.
The hull is adorned with pairs of portholes, ensuring ample natural light reaches the lower deck interior, while larger glazing benefits the guest cabins at the aft of the lower deck. Moving along the straight line from the foredeck to amidships, the structure opens up to provide guard rail safety and unobstructed glazing for the main salon, welcoming abundant natural light.
At the stern, twin recessed staircases lead to the bathing platform, while a large transom door reveals water toys and guest amenities. The main deck aft offers banquette seating, a smart teak deck, and Linley lounge chairs, flanked by stylish cabinetry with Art Deco-inspired handles, inviting guests into the interior spaces.
The upper deck features an al fresco dining experience with a large oval table beneath an oval-shaped ceiling feature. Steamer-style lounging chairs offer elevated views aft, complemented by banquette seating for comfort and flexibility. Huge glazed doors sweep open to provide seamless access to the interior, while a smart spiral staircase leads to the sun deck.
Forward on the sun deck, guests enjoy a versatile space for relaxation, with curved banquette seating, sun pads, loungers, and tables for convenience. A raised jacuzzi and further bench seating offer additional comfort, while the extensive gym is situated underneath the canopy of the vertical radar mast, providing a tranquil workout space.
Interior Design
The 2017/2018 refurbishment illuminated Calypso's interiors, maintaining a captivating charm reminiscent of its original styling. Influenced by the Edwardian era, the furniture boasts a lighter, more delicate design, influenced by the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements. Marquetry adorns the chairs in the upper deck salon, showcasing the era's craftsmanship. Additionally, hints of Art Deco styling complement the space, creating a harmonious fusion of eras.
The main deck salon invites relaxation with its generous ivory and gold sofas, adorned with heavy fringe and intricate patterns. Rich cabinetry contrasts with dark blue leather and walnut, featuring elegant fluting details.
Elegance defines the grand dining area, where a large dining table rests atop a striking parquet floor with black accents. Textured walls complement the vintage French chandelier illuminating the room, while Art Deco dining chairs accommodate up to 12 guests.
Vibrant colors and bold patterns, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, infuse the guest spaces with energy and sophistication.
The grand staircase stands as a masterpiece of design, boasting an elaborate coiled handrail and bold brass balusters. A soft golden carpet underfoot enhances comfort, while a paneled mirrored ceiling reflects natural light streaming in through expansive windows, creating a luminous ambiance throughout the space.
Accommodation
Calypso's accommodation layout accommodates up to 14 guests across seven well-appointed suites, all of which benefited from a full refurbishment in 2017.
The owner's cabin is a two-level suite that extends across the yacht's full beam, providing an expansive private area. The suite boasts a remarkable four-meter ceiling height and is bathed in natural light, thanks in part to the overhead skylight. Its features include an observation lounge, an office space, twin dressing rooms, and en-suite facilities, all surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows providing unobstructed views.
In addition to the owner's suite, Calypso features one spacious VIP cabin and four double cabins, each with a Pullman bed, offering versatility in guest arrangements.
Crew quarters on Calypso have been strategically designed to enable up to 15 crew members to provide full guest service. Privacy is paramount, with discreet crew pathways and separate entrances to maintain guest privacy throughout.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516 B DIT) 2,598hp engines, motor yacht Calypso is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 168,350 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots.
