Design & Construction

Designed around a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.8m beam and a 2.7m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 470 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in October 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2012.

Exterior Design

René van der Velden, a Dutch designer, has crafted a yacht that balances power with sophistication. The yacht's raised bow and long foredeck are reminiscent of an expedition-style vessel, while the reversed pilothouse windows emphasize its circumnavigation capabilities. The steel hull is finished in a dark, complex bronzy grey, a custom blend of pigments and metallic flecks developed by Alexseal's chemists in Germany. The color of the hull shifts subtly with changes in light, offering a dynamic appearance from different angles.

The yacht's design prioritizes safety and security without compromising on aesthetics. A Portuguese bridge protects the seating area forward of the wheelhouse, and the high bow with a breaker on the foredeck is designed for challenging conditions. The wide beam and heavy displacement ensure stability, while the fairing line and shear-line add a touch of glamour to the overall profile.

CaryAli's exterior also incorporates practical elements for long voyages. Full walk-arounds on all decks facilitate easy movement, and crew circulation is designed to avoid intruding on guest spaces. The foredeck is equipped to carry large tenders, including a military-type Zodiac Hurricane, supported by a hefty crane for handling. The upper deck is designed for both safety and leisure, with indoor and outdoor spaces that adapt to various weather conditions.

The sundeck is designed for versatility, featuring sunbeds and workout equipment. A horseshoe-shaped stainless steel bar wraps around an outdoor galley, equipped with essential amenities for social gatherings. The sundeck also includes a custom jetted tub with an infinity edge, located between the mast and windscreen for added privacy.

Interior Design

CaryAli's interior design reflects a clean and sophisticated aesthetic, integrating elements of French art deco with modern residential style. The use of warm walnut and deep ebony wood tones, complemented by stainless steel accents, establishes a cohesive visual theme. These materials are offset by rich mohair and silk fabrics in shades of grey and silver, with pale grey and white marble providing additional contrast.

The main saloon features a hand-etched bronzed panel inspired by Monet's Water Lilies, which spans the full centre bulkhead and frames the dining table. This artistic touch aligns with the deco period details and metallic bases of the Porto Romano sconces. The dining table itself is adaptable, capable of seating six, eight, or ten people, thanks to its adjustable dimensions.

In the upper saloon, curved glass walls provide expansive views and create a sense of openness. This area is enclosed on three sides, allowing natural light to flood the space. The aft wall slides away to open the space to the covered aft deck, enhancing the connection between indoor and outdoor areas.

The helm is compact, yet offers excellent visibility and access to wing stations and the working deck. The bridge deck has a casual, beachy feel, suitable for relaxed days. A dedicated ship's office is located here, emphasizing functionality.

Throughout the yacht, thoughtful design choices ensure that spaces are both practical and aesthetically pleasing, catering to the needs of the owners and their guests.

CaryAli offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising an owners cabin, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. The master suite, located on the main deck, provides a formal space that is flooded with natural light, offering a serene environment for the owners.
