Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8.5m beam and a 2.05m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 386 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fifteenth yacht built on the Oasis 40M design. Launched in November 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Benetti's Livorno yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in December 2023.

Exterior Design

Kahala stands out for its aft deck layout, a multifunctional beach club area offers 90sq/m of openness featuring an infinity pool and fold-down balcony terraces. When the two side wings are lowered, the deck’s width extends to 11m. The main deck aft embraces the glass-sided pool, which is set within a three-sided teak surround. Access to the water is easy via the hydraulic platform and ladder staircase on the starboard side of the bathing platform. Cabinetry and a bar by the large aft-facing sofa provide refreshments for guests. Large sweeping circular doors provide access to the main salon.

The beach area has no stairway to the upper decks. Instead, the upper decks can be reached from the side walkways or from inside the yacht. The garage is located on the starboard side to avoid any operational interference with this area.

The side profile showcases its elongated stern, with a prominent strake just below the drop-down side balconies. A shell door aft of amidships indicates tender stowage, and slim horizontal glazing within the hull, along with a row of forward portholes, provides ample light to the lower deck interior.

Curvilinear design elements feature scoops on the main deck topsides, lowering the bulwarks to allow more natural light and better visibility in the main deck salon and dining areas. Wing stations on the upper deck level add visual interest as the lines of the yacht proceed forward to the foredeck. The foredeck is a functional space with recessed anchoring and mooring hardware. A large dual-facing sun pad takes center stage, accompanied by a slightly curved U-shaped sofa offering forward-facing views.

Extensive vertical glazing contrasts against the superstructure, giving the yacht a dynamic forward-leaning look on the main and upper decks, with the angle changing on the sundeck to accommodate the backward-leaning canopy for the radar mast. The sundeck’s teak guard rails enhance the elegance of this elevated guest space, where a circular jacuzzi pool forward, surrounded by sun pads, provides guest relaxation.

Interior Design

The main-deck salon is a focal point for social gatherings, featuring extensive glazing that floods the area with natural light. The custom dining table, designed to seat ten, is complemented by a rug specifically crafted for the space, adding a touch of bespoke craftsmanship to the environment.

Between the salon and the owner's stateroom, a commissioned sculpture from a Hawaiian artist is prominently displayed, symbolizing the owner's personal connection to Hawaii. This thoughtful detail integrates cultural significance into the yacht's design.

The wheelhouse, located one level above, is equipped with full-height glazing offering an expansive view. The helm is designed with a "light bridge console," a futuristic concept developed by Benetti and Fincantieri. The carbon-fiber console features integrated software and controls, laid out on two panels that resemble armrests for the captain's chair. Navigation equipment is stored in an air-conditioned compartment abaft the wheelhouse, concealed by panels to maintain a clean and organized appearance.

The skylounge on the same level offers a casual space for relaxation and informal dining, complete with a bar and a breakfast table. This area seamlessly connects to an outdoor space fitted with custom sun pads, similar to those found on the sundeck above.

Accommodation

Kahala extends across four decks, offering a total of five staterooms for ten guests and five cabins for up to nine crew members, including the captain. The four guest suites, two of which are VIP suites, are located on the lower deck. The full-beam master suite, located forward on the main deck, features a private lounge.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (V12-1400) 12-cylinder 1,400hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Kahala is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 45,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles.
