Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement w/ bulbous bow steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 35' beam and a 9'6" draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,212 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in March 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.
Exterior Design
Brodosplit, the Croatian yacht builder, has designed the exteriors of Katina, a sleek 60m yacht, featuring a white hull and superstructure. The raked bow flares as it meets the foredeck, which serves as a functional space housing tender storage, a launching crane, and a prominent light mast.
Starting at the top, the spacious sun deck primarily serves as a functional area, accommodating tender and watercraft storage, a launching crane, and mounted radar and communication equipment. The upper deck enjoys the light filtering down from a large opening within the sun deck highlighting the dining area below, complete with ample guest seating and a bar. A square jacuzzi sits on a raised teak platform just aft, benefiting from partial shade from the canopy and partial exposure to the sun. Tapered columns support the canopy, with additional tender stowage available at the very aft of this upper deck space. Access to this deck space from the deck below is provided by a stairway located on the port side aft.
The main deck aft features twin stairways leading to the short bathing platform, which includes an extending platform for easy water access.
Katina's side profile showcases extensive glazing, creating a striking contrast between the dark glazing and the white superstructure. The deck levels are fully walk-around for convenient access throughout the yacht. In addition to the four exterior deck levels, side balconies on both port and starboard sides lower to create private balconies. Side doors from the bridge enhance visibility during yacht maneuvers. Pairs of portholes adorn the lower deck under the strake that runs almost the full length of the yacht, while a black bootstrap provides the finishing touch.
Interior Design
The interior, crafted by renowned Turkish designer Ali Getz, offers a warm blend of dark and light patterns, featuring satin finished oak and high gloss walnut woods, plush fabrics in cream tones, and leather accents.
Texture plays a significant role, with smooth wood contrasting against textured wall panels, and plain carpets providing a soft base for velvet sofa cushions. The socializing area boasts large curved sofas accented with touches of blue, illuminated by gentle Oluce Atollo Murano glass table lamps.
A second salon features a palette of soft greys, with a spacious seating section alongside a stylish wooden bar topped with white marble.
Incorporating a terracotta warrior statue adds cultural richness and intrigue, serving as a striking focal point in Katina's lobby and circular staircase area.
The cigar room exudes the ambiance of a gentleman's club, with distressed leather armchairs, parquet flooring with darker wood inlay, and glass cases showcasing spirits. Stylish brass wall lights and a fireplace enhance the room's relaxed atmosphere.
Accommodation
Katina offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising two owners cabins, 3 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Cummins (KTA 38M2) 1,350hp engines, motor yacht Katina is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 32,757 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Katina also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
