Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 6.12m beam and a 1.68m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 138 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Kentucky Bell's hull is crafted for both aesthetic appeal and performance, with a semi-displacement design that facilitates a comfortable cruising experience. The vessel's extended hardtop covers a spacious aft deck, which serves as an inviting outdoor lounge area. Here, guests can gather around a quartz-topped dining table, complemented by ample seating, making it an ideal spot for alfresco dining or socializing.

The teak deck sole underfoot adds a touch of timeless charm and durability to the exterior spaces. Large, oversized sliding glass doors offer a smooth transition from the outdoor leisure areas to the yacht's interior, allowing for an open-concept feel that merges indoor and outdoor living.

The upper deck of Kentucky Belle is designed for entertainment and relaxation, featuring a custom circular spa and abundant seating. The boat deck not only provides a spot for tender storage but also houses a Nordic Crown II hot tub and a generous sun pad with integrated storage, offering additional lounging options for guests.

At the bow, watertight aircraft-style entry doors on both port and starboard sides ensure safe and convenient access, reinforcing the yacht's commitment to practicality and safety. The forward helm station is equipped with advanced navigation electronics and a comfortable Stidd helm chair, ensuring the captain's command is both efficient and enjoyable.

Kentucky Belle's interior design prioritizes a blend of classical materials and modern amenities, offering a setting that is both elegant and pragmatic.

Interior Design

The interior of the Kentucky Belle is characterized by a traditional design featuring satin-finished Makora African cherry wood, with elements of high gloss Carpathian elm burl accentuating the space. This combination of woods is complemented by mahogany crown molding in the salon and staterooms, providing a cohesive and polished look throughout the vessel.

In areas such as the galley, heads, and salon floors, honeycombed Crèma Marfil marble is utilized, offering the dual benefits of reduced weight and the inherent elegance of marble. This marble, set against the backdrop of the wood joinery, presents an appealing contrast that enhances the yacht's overall aesthetic.

The main salon is accessed through an oversized sliding glass door from the aft deck. Here, a large teak deck sole and extended hardtop form an inviting lounge area complemented by a quartz-topped dining table and seating arrangement. The salon itself is furnished with built-in cabinetry, which houses a 40" HD TV and electronic entertainment center, as well as freestanding furniture that creates a spacious living area.

Lighting throughout the vessel is thoughtfully placed to complement the interior design, with ceiling heights contributing to the sense of openness—7'3" in the galley and master staterooms and 6'9" in the salon.

Adjacent to the salon, the galley and dining areas are designed for both functionality and socializing. The galley is professionally equipped with a stainless steel stove, Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, and ample storage, all set within red Sierra Chica granite countertops and surrounded by Makora cabinetry. The dining area, positioned forward of the settee on the starboard side, accommodates up to eight guests and is highlighted by a built-in buffet and chandelier.

The lower helm station is strategically laid out for optimal operation, with a built-in dinette on the starboard forward corner for casual dining. The helm is framed by leather seating, continuing the warm ambiance found throughout the yacht. Comprehensively equipped, with advanced navigation and communication tools including two Garmin 8217 screens which serve for both GPS and radar functions. Communication is facilitated through an Icom M602 VHF radio with a 22-watt hailer and Digital Selective Calling (DSC). For autopilot capabilities, a Simrad AP50 autopilot system is installed alongside a B&G Network depth/speed system for precise monitoring of the yacht's underwater profile.

Safety and security are bolstered by an Elbex closed-circuit TV system with two infrared color cameras strategically located in the engine room, aft deck, and cockpit areas, allowing for vigilant surveillance of critical yacht areas.

Accommodation

Kentucky Belle offers refined accommodations for up to six guests, distributed across three staterooms.

The owner's cabin, also known as the master stateroom, spans a full 18 feet in width and is positioned aft for optimal space and seclusion. It includes his and her heads, split by a shared glass door tub enclosure. Within the master stateroom, ample closet space and built-in cabinetry are present for storage, along with a concealed flat-screen television for private entertainment.

Forward of the vessel, the VIP guest stateroom provides a plush and inviting space for guests, while an additional twin cabin is situated on the starboard side. Both guest staterooms are appointed with private ensuite heads, ensuring convenience and comfort for all guests aboard.

For the crew, Kentucky Belle is equipped with quarters, ensuring that up to four crew members can be accommodated. The captain's quarters include a private ensuite head. The crew quarters are furnished with bunk beds and have their own ensuite head, reflecting a standard of quality that could easily be mistaken for additional guest accommodations.

The yacht's layout is thoughtfully designed to maintain separation between crew and guest areas, with the crew quarters and engine room access situated via a circular staircase adjacent to the main entry door. This design ensures that operational tasks can be carried out discreetly, without intruding upon the tranquility of the guest spaces.

Performance & Capabilities

Kentucky Belle is propelled by two robust diesel Caterpillar (3412C) engines, each delivering 1,400 horsepower. This power setup enables the yacht to achieve a top speed of 15 knots. For cruising, Kentucky Belle maintains a comfortable pace of 10 knots, providing an ideal balance between speed and comfort during voyages. The semi-displacement hull design enhances this equilibrium, underscoring the yacht's proficient navigational abilities.

Supplementing her main engines, Kentucky Belle is outfitted with Northern Lights 984 33 kW generators encased in sound shields, which minimize noise while operating. The onboard fuel is kept clean by Racor 500 MA fuel filters. Water needs are managed by an 800 gallons per day Sea Recovery water maker, ensuring ample fresh water supply for extended trips at sea.

For stabilization, an American Bow Thruster Trac Stabilizer system is employed to ensure smooth sailing and reduce roll motion, which enhances guest comfort during all sea conditions.

Kentucky Belle incorporates a Chem-Free Purification Systems ozone distribution system, which includes four UV-type ozone generators. These units distribute ozone to the yacht's fresh water tanks, black and grey water tanks, and bilge areas to maintain an odor-free environment onboard.

The yacht also features a Headhunter Tidal Wave sewage treatment system, which is a US Coast Guard certified Type II marine sanitation device and meets the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. This system ensures the yacht adheres to environmental regulations by effectively treating sewage discharge.
