The 42m motor yacht Status Quo was delivered to her owners in 2008 by Taiwanese shipyard Horizon. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Espinosa Yacht Design, while Gregory Marshall is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.24m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 399 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Status Quo presents a distinct visual profile, characterized by a raked bow that contributes to its sleek appearance. The yacht's hull is painted in a deep blue, creating a striking contrast against the white superstructure and boot top.
Crafted from teak, the decks of Status Quo offer both durability and a classic aesthetic. This choice of material is practical for maritime environments and adds to the yacht's overall appeal by providing a natural look and feel underfoot. Below the waterline, the hull is finished in black, which complements the yacht's color palette, adding to its sophisticated appearance.
On the sun deck, the layout includes a four-seat bar and a U-shaped dinette at the forward end, with a Jacuzzi tub, lounge pad, and additional seating at the aft, offering diverse options for relaxation and socializing in open air. This deck strikes a balance between sun exposure and shaded areas, allowing guests to enjoy the environment according to their preference.
The bridge deck below is characterized by its adaptable entertainment area. With the pilothouse positioned forward, the skylounge at the center, and an open-air deck aft, this level offers a mix of indoor and outdoor seating areas. Each zone—from the dinette in the pilothouse to the sofa and bar in the skylounge, and the loose furniture on the aft deck—is thoughtfully arranged to enhance both the usability and the comfort of the space.
The main deck at the rear transitions smoothly from the interior salon to an outdoor cockpit area. Here, seating at the transom and a fixed table with loose chairs provide a setting for alfresco dining, accentuating the yacht's capacity for hosting and entertaining.
Interior Design
The interior design of Status Quo reflects a classic style, highlighted by the use of dark cabinets and wall paneling with detailed inlay work. This is contrasted effectively with lighter ceilings, furniture, and carpets. Materials such as marble and onyx have been employed in the soles and countertops throughout the yacht.
In the main salon, the arrangement is conventional, with a lounge area located aft, featuring two three-person sofas arranged around a decorative glass-top coffee table to port, and a three-person bar situated directly to starboard. The formal dining area is positioned forward in the salon, equipped with a circular table capable of accommodating 10 to 12 guests, designed to facilitate a high-level dining experience. Large picture windows line the salon, providing ample natural light and views, contributing to the feeling of spaciousness.
The galley is outfitted with modern appliances and designed for efficiency, capable of supporting extended voyages. It includes a full-size refrigerator and freezer, two sinks, a cooktop, oven, microwave, and convection oven, along with sufficient storage.
The bridge deck functions as a versatile entertainment space, with the pilothouse positioned forward. It includes a dinette for additional seating. The skylounge is located amidships, featuring a sofa and a four-person bar.
Accommodation
Status Quo features a well-planned six-stateroom layout that comfortably accommodates 12 guests.
The full beam owner's suite is strategically located forward of a foyer and day head, with access through an office on the starboard side. The owner's suite includes a hand-crafted, walk-around king-size berth, complemented by an en suite head, walk-in closets, and large windows that enhance the space with natural light.
Below decks, Status Quo offers a VIP stateroom that rivals the owner's suite in terms of luxury and comfort. This forward VIP stateroom is equipped with a king berth featuring a hand-crafted silk headboard, a marble-finished foyer, and an en suite head, setting a high standard for accommodation on board.
In addition to the owner's and VIP suites, there are four more en suite staterooms located below decks. These consist of two staterooms with queen berths and two staterooms with twin berths, ensuring a flexible sleeping arrangement that can cater to families, couples, or singles.
Status Quo is equipped to house eight crew members. The captain's cabin is situated on the bridge deck, offering easy access to the yacht's controls and navigation systems. Below decks, three additional crew cabins are provided, accessible via the transom door or from the portside main deck companionway.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,825hp engines, motor yacht Status Quo is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 41,600 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 1,600 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
