Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12m beam and a 3.66m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,238 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2008. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Mary-Jean II's exterior design emphasizes clean lines and functional elegance. The white superstructure appears to make minimal contact with the main deck, creating a streamlined look. This design choice is mirrored in the connection between the upper and bridge decks, which also suggests forward motion even when the yacht is stationary.
The foredeck is spacious, housing practical features such as the bosun's locker, a pair of PWCs with individual cranes, and vertical Muir windlasses. A well in this area contains the Castoldi Jet 14 rescue boat, which the crew humorously refer to as the captain's personal swimming pool.
The sun deck features a radar arch that supports awnings, matching the four large sun umbrellas favored by the owners. The forward area of the sun deck includes a spa pool flanked by large sunpads and protected by glass panels. Two varnished teak dining tables can be combined to seat up to 14 people, and buffets and a bar provide excellent service facilities.
At the bridge level, aft port and starboard sofas are complemented by a buffet and a long dining table capable of seating all guests aboard. Sliding glass doors open to a saloon, offering a viewing area for a large television monitor or a drop-down screen, with a projector lowering from the ceiling. The yacht's design includes AMX remote-control units throughout, allowing for easy control of lights and blinds.
Interior Design
The main saloon showcases a blend of classic and modern artwork, displayed to maximum advantage. The saloon is divided by a single cabinet concealing a television, and features four rectangular coffee tables flanked by armchairs and a pair of sofas. Chaises longues are positioned outboard, providing ideal spots for reading or conversation. The dining area adjacent to the main saloon continues the theme of light wood and satin finishes, with serving cabinets in contrasting wenge. The dining table and chair frames also feature wenge, with the chairs upholstered in soft white fabric.
The upper lounge serves as the Mary-Jean II's cinematic hub, offering a pop-up television or a drop-down screen for film viewing. A stock of over 2,500 films ensures extensive entertainment options. The lounge’s design includes AMX remote-control units for ship functions, allowing guests to dim the lights and close the blinds, enhancing the viewing experience.
The main deck foyer leads to various interior spaces, featuring doors in pale stone set in teak frames and inset with narrow strips of split bamboo. The floors are light-colored wood framing soft beige marble, complemented by tiny lights at the base of the walls and tall sconces, creating a warm effect. The foyer also displays a model of the previous Mary-Jean in a glass case, a nod to the yacht's heritage.
The bridge features satin-varnished teak extensively, with all flat navigation surfaces, overheads, and forward window mullions finished in matte charcoal. Two pilot chairs add comfort for the crew, while a sofa is available for visiting owners and guests. The bridge design accommodates both electronic and paper navigation, reflecting the captain’s preference for traditional methods.
The lower deck houses a well-equipped gym, featuring a Peloton Plus exercise bike, rowing machine, TechnoGym adjustable weights, skipping ropes, yoga mats, and an exercise ball. All gym equipment is movable, allowing the space to double as a massage or treatment room when required.
Accommodation
Mary-Jean II accommodates up to 12 guests in a well-appointed layout designed for both comfort and functionality. The yacht features six cabins, including a master suite, a VIP suite, and four additional guest cabins.
The master suite, located forward on the main deck, features a freestanding desk, a smaller desk opposite, and a variety of artwork that provides a lived-in feel. The suite's design ensures a luxurious experience with attention to detail that includes a telescope engraved with "Napoleon’s Telescope" and a charming bust of a young Mary-Jean.
The VIP suite, situated on the upper deck, provides exceptional views through large picture windows. This suite continues the yacht's theme of light-toned woods and fabrics, creating a bright atmosphere.
On the lower deck, guests will find four double cabins, two of which can be converted to twin configurations. Each cabin is spacious and comfortable, equipped with en suite bathrooms featuring teak floors inset with limestone and accentuated by skirting lighting.
She is also capable of carrying up to 16 crew. Crew accommodation is also thoughtfully designed, with en suite cabins finished to guest standards. A hidden corridor allows for easy service between the guest and crew areas, ensuring seamless operation and privacy for guests.
