Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9.45m beam and a 2.13m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the third yacht built on the S501 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in September 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2020.

Exterior Design

Distinctive for the 5501 series platform, Olokun exhibits a vertical bow which lends her a commanding presence on the water. This feature not only contributes to her striking profile but also enhances her hydrodynamic performance, ensuring smooth and efficient navigation.

Her imposing stern, a design hallmark of the series, is complemented by a compact superstructure, achieving an aesthetic balance that is both elegant and assertive. The sleek design extends to the geometric windows, which are not merely functional elements but also serve as dynamic visual accents, imparting a sense of movement even when Olokun is at rest.

The yacht's exterior color palette is a harmonious interplay of gleaming black and lustrous silver, a choice that distinguishes Olokun from her sister ships, Vertige and Bintador. This bold combination underscores her individuality, while the reflective surfaces capture the changing light of the sea and sky, creating an ever-evolving visual spectacle.

Paszkowski's commitment to maximizing outdoor living spaces is evident in the generous deck layouts, designed to offer unparalleled comfort and expansive areas for entertainment. The attention to detail is clear, from the lowered main deck gunwales that enhance the panoramic views to the thoughtful placement of custom-made furniture by Casa Dio, which adorns the decks and complements the yacht's minimalist ethos.

On the upper deck, guests can indulge in the luxury of the formal dining room, whose black walls and sleek design continue the theme of sophisticated simplicity. This space effortlessly transitions to an expansive outdoor dining area, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor living and an immersive dining experience beneath the stars.

The sundeck serves as a crowning retreat, boasting a spa tub, bar, and dining area, all designed for the ultimate al fresco experience. Here, the connection to the open water is palpable, with every element crafted to enhance the pleasure of life at sea.

The lower deck's garage, currently a luxury beach club ensconced in teak, has been future-proofed with hidden infrastructure to accommodate a tender if needed, ensuring that the yacht remains adaptable to a range of lifestyles and potential future requirements.

Olokun stands as an embodiment of marrying cutting-edge technology with luxurious design.

Interior Design

Embodying the timeless principle that less is indeed more, the yacht's spaces are defined by an extremely minimalist interior that pairs the pristine purity of white furniture and carpets with the warmth of open-grain oak floors and ceilings. This minimalist approach extends to the selection of colors, where jet black walls form a dramatic backdrop to the living areas and guest cabins, intentionally drawing the eye outward to the tranquil blue of the sea beyond.

The decision to paint the oak walls black is an unconventional but inspired choice, providing a visual depth that contrasts with the lighter elements within each room. Rodriguez's design sensibility, which can be likened to the understated elegance suggested by Coco Chanel's approach to fashion, ensures that the yacht's interior exudes a sense of sophisticated simplicity. It is an environment where every component has been meticulously considered to serve both function and form, without unnecessary embellishment.

The yacht's furniture, custom-designed by Casa Dio, showcases the marriage of minimalist design with ultimate comfort. Rodriguez's preference for a subdued color palette of charcoal and black, seamlessly integrated with natural oak and honed stone, delivers a calming ambiance that pervades the yacht. The oak's open grain is a deliberate choice, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail that characterizes the studio's work, which is crafted in their Miami workshop.

The dedication to minimalist design is evident in the absence of layered window treatments and the selection of new materials for the stairway, enhancing the yacht's spacious feel. The main saloon’s lowered gunwales offer panoramic views, while the white sofas, complemented by Casa Dio Makotto coffee tables crafted from calacatta marble, provide a subtle but luxurious touch.

Throughout Olokun, the starkness of the dark walls is softened by the use of white Loro Piana soft goods, which include cashmere throws, wool and cashmere rugs, and furniture fabrics in "absolute white" twill. This interplay of dark and light elements ensures that the yacht's interior remains a balanced and inviting space.

In defiance of traditional yacht design that often features televisions as focal points in shared spaces, Olokun eschews this trend. The owner's discerning taste has led to the exclusion of televisions in the communal living areas and the master suite, emphasizing the yacht's primary purpose as a sanctuary for relaxation and enjoyment of the marine environment.

Accommodation

The yacht is equipped to cater to a discerning clientele, sleeping up to twelve guests in six cabins. These include a full-beam master suite, one VIP stateroom, and four additional guest cabins, all of which are designed to provide the utmost in comfort and privacy. Each cabin has been finished to the highest specifications, with bespoke Casa Dio furniture that complements the yacht's minimalist aesthetic.

The master suite is located on the main deck and boasts a his-and-hers bathroom finished in pristine white calacatta marble, a feature that exudes a sense of serene luxury. The black-painted oak walls and open-grain oak floors and ceilings create a cocoon-like atmosphere. The suite is further enhanced by two terraces, one on each side, which invite the outside in and provide a private space for relaxation.

In addition to the luxurious guest accommodations, Olokun also provides well-appointed crew quarters, ensuring that the service onboard is as seamless as it is discreet. The accommodations for up to 10 crew are designed to offer comfort and functionality, allowing the dedicated team of professionals to maintain the highest standards of service.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M54) 1,920hp engines, motor yacht Olokun is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 65,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots making her well capable of long range and transatlantic voyages. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

In addition, Olokun features a beach club where those on board can enjoy unwinding close to the water. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
