Italian shipyard Tankoa has sold the fourth hull in its all-aluminium S501 series, shortly after the successful launch of OLOKUN in mid-September.
Much like on many Tankoa yachts available to buy, the exterior was styled by Florence-based Francesco Paszkowski. According to the yard, the design was a key factor in the Owner’s decision to commission the build, as was the option of installing a hybrid propulsion system.
“The shipyard is particularly satisfied as this is the second yacht sold after OLOKUN in what has been a very difficult year for everyone,” comments Tankoa sales manager Giuseppe Mazza.

“It is also our second 50-metre project with hybrid propulsion, in this case developed in collaboration with MAN and Siemens.”
Her hull and superstructure are both constructed entirely out of aluminium, which has proven popular with those buying new yachts thanks to its potential for improved performance and fuel efficiency.
Sistership VERTIGE is a highly popular charter yacht, so the fourth S501 may well enter the charter market as well.
The hull is slated for delivery at the end of 2021. Tankoa has also revealed that it is currently building the fifth S501, which should be with its Owner in 2022.
