Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.4m beam and a 3.35m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 671 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fourteenth yacht built on the Amels 180 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2019 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2019.

Exterior Design

The sun deck, an expansive area on the yacht, provides ample space for relaxation, entertainment, or various outdoor activities. The presence of a helipad ensures versatility for guests' arrival and departure, as well as emergency use. The deck area is versatile, able to host a range of amenities including an outdoor cinema, Jacuzzi and a full outdoor dining setup.

The main deck aft serves as the primary entry point for guests, whether arriving by tender or from the dock, and acts as a transition zone from the vessel to the water. This area is designed to facilitate easy movement and provide a welcoming space for guests as they come aboard. The swim platform and beach club offer direct water access, enhancing the connection with the sea and providing a convenient base for water sports and activities.

Papa's exteriors are finished with high-quality materials and coatings, ensuring durability against the harsh marine environment. The vessel's color scheme is understated, which underscores the yacht's professional and sophisticated character.

The attention to detail in the choice of materials, design elements, and layout ensures that the Papa's spaces are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional.

Interior Design

The main deck serves as the central gathering space, with an indoor dining area that offers a convivial setting for guests. The inclusion of opening doors and balconies introduces natural light and fresh air into the space, enhancing the dining experience. The utilization of such design elements ensures the interior feels connected to the surrounding marine environment.

The interior design by Laura Sessa is consistent, with a cohesive color scheme and custom elements that maintain a uniform appearance throughout the vessel. Door handles and other hardware are carefully chosen for both their form and function.

The main deck also houses the galley, strategically situated behind a false door for discreet service. It is equipped with professional-grade appliances, including dual ovens, a fryer, and a plancha, ensuring culinary operations are efficient and diverse.

The bridge is equipped with advanced navigation systems and offers ample seating for guests to engage with the captain and crew, gaining insight into the yacht's operations.

Accommodation

Accommodations aboard the Amels-built motor yacht Papa are designed to house up to ten guests across the yacht's five well-appointed suites.

The owner's cabin, a highlight of Papa's design, is situated on the main deck. This prime location affords the cabin an exceptional view and an abundance of natural light. It features a private balcony, accessible at the touch of a button, which brings the outside in and offers a retreat overlooking the ocean. The suite includes a spacious office area, a generous bedroom, and a bathroom equipped with both a bath and a shower. The walk-in closets not only offer ample storage but also boast sophisticated lighting features that add to the ambiance and functionality of the space.

On the lower deck, guest accommodations include three double cabins and one twin cabin, all with en-suite facilities. The aft cabins, considered VIP quarters, come with dressing rooms and walk-in closets, providing guests with a luxurious space to prepare for the day or an evening event. The forward cabins offer a unique feature where they can be connected, creating a perfect setup for families or guests who wish to stay close. Each cabin is distinct, with its own color theme that adds a personalized touch to the guests' stay.

The crew quarters, designed to accommodate up to 13 crew members, ensure that every need of the guests is attended to with the utmost care and professionalism. The crew accommodations are separate from the guest areas to maintain privacy.

Performance & Capabilities

Papa's houses twin MTU 16V 2000 M70 engines, each delivering 1,308 horsepower at 2100 revolutions per minute. This formidable powertrain allows Papa to achieve a top speed of 15 knots, striking a balance between speed and efficiency.

Cruising at a consistent 13 knots, Papa demonstrates her capability for extended voyages, thanks to the considerable fuel capacity of 115,000 liters. This substantial fuel reserve endows her with an impressive range of 4,500 nautical miles, ensuring that even the most remote and exotic destinations are within reach while cruising.

Papa's well-engineered stability system contributes to her excellent seakeeping abilities. The yacht's design incorporates a favorable center of gravity, with the engine room strategically placed amidships, optimizing weight distribution and enhancing natural stability. This thoughtful placement, coupled with state-of-the-art stabilizing technology, ensures that guests on board Papa experience minimal motion discomfort.
