Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 8.4m beam and a 1.93m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 267 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2018. She was delivered to her owners in August 2020.

Exterior Design

The aft seating arrangement is a notable feature, presenting a combination of social seating and sunbeds. The innovative inclusion of a winter garden dining area, complete with climate control via retractable glass doors, offers both functionality and panoramic views, regardless of weather conditions.

Piccolo's stainless steel rails and wide staircases exhibit structural integrity and ease of movement. The foredeck provides a lounging area and a secluded nook at the bow, with standard anchor handling fittings. The flybridge is accessed via a strategically placed staircase to avoid rainwater ingress onto the aft deck.

The flybridge itself is expansive, with a reported 107 square meters (1,150 sq ft) of space, accommodating various social and relaxation areas, including lounging spots, dining settings, a barbeque station, and an upper helm for open-air navigation. A heated plunge pool is also present, chosen for family-friendly use over a jacuzzi. This large open deck is protected by a hardtop, offering shelter and comfort.

Piccolo is characterized by its wide beam, substantial outdoor spaces, and thoughtful features that enhance both guest enjoyment and practical maintenance.

Interior Design

The saloon capitalizes on the yacht's width rather than its length, offering a generous footprint accented by floor-to-ceiling windows which blur the distinction between interior and exterior spaces. The fixtures and furnishings within are chosen for their clean lines and function, complemented by a palette of materials that enhance the yacht's understated sophistication.

The dining area on Piccolo is a noteworthy feature, located in a semi-al fresco setting that transforms with the weather. Glass doors enclose the space, creating a climate-controlled winter garden that allows for year-round dining with panoramic views. The space is equipped with temperature control systems, ensuring comfort regardless of external conditions. A nearby television provides an added element of entertainment.

Adjacent to the dining area, the galley is outfitted with professional-grade appliances, including ample refrigeration, a dishwasher, and a trash compactor. Full cooking facilities are complemented by a substantial extractor fan, and the galley is finished with high-quality surfaces that are both attractive and easy to clean. Direct access to the side decks enables the crew to operate efficiently without disturbing guests.

The helm, positioned on the main deck, offers excellent forward visibility from the front of the yacht. Featuring navigation equipment, bow thruster controls, autopilot, and throttle controls all within easy reach. Again, the use of materials such as stainless steel and leather in seating and control surfaces is indicative of the yacht's dedication to both style and substance. Side access doors from the helm allow for crew movement without impacting guest areas.

Accommodation

Piccolo offers sleeping arrangements for up to 10 guests across five well-appointed suites, each designed to provide a tranquil and private retreat for the yacht's visitors. The main deck features an additional twin berth cabin, complete with an ensuite bathroom and a pullman berth, enhancing the yacht's sleeping capacity and flexibility, which is especially convenient for families or groups with children.

The owner's suite includes an expansive en suite bathroom, featuring a separate toilet, a shower, and luxurious finishes. Adjacent to the bathroom is a substantial dressing area, leading into a large walk-in wardrobe, ensuring plenty of space for personal belongings.

The lower deck of Piccolo houses the other guest accommodations, including a VIP guest cabin that is spacious and equipped with ample storage, large hull windows, and a luxurious ensuite bathroom adorned with Turkish marble. The attention to detail ensures that each guest experiences a comfortable and serene environment.

Two more guest cabins are situated on either side of the lower deck, boasting considerable size thanks to the yacht's generous beam, with beds placed across the boat to maximize the space. Both cabins feature their own private ensuites with marble finishes, continuing the theme of elegance and privacy throughout.

Crew accommodation is also considered, with up to seven crew members able to be housed on board. This includes the captain's cabin and additional crew quarters, all fitted with en suite facilities and designed to ensure the crew can perform their duties effectively while having comfortable personal spaces.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 engines each producing 1,000 horsepower, Piccolo is engineered for efficiency and performance. The engines enable the yacht to achieve a top speed of approximately 15 knots and a cruise comfortably at 14 knots. For those looking to extend the yacht's range, reducing the speed to 10 knots allows for a significant increase in fuel economy and an impressive range of about 2,300 nautical miles, making Piccolo well-suited for extended voyages.

Attention to detail is evident in the engine room, where there is ample space around the engines facilitating ease of maintenance and inspection. This spaciousness is a direct result of the yacht's wide beam, which not only enhances the onboard experience but also improves functionality in the engineering spaces. Generators are well-placed, assuring reliable power supply, and the layout ensures that essential systems are readily accessible.

The yacht also features advanced stabilization systems located aft in the engine room, away from guest areas to minimize noise disruption. These stabilizers are crucial for enhancing onboard comfort, especially when at anchor, providing a smoother experience for guests.
