The 117'9" catamaran yacht Space Cat was delivered to her owners in 2022 by Australian shipyard SilverYachts. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Espen Oeino, while Pulina Exclusive Interiors is responsible for her interior design.
Key Features
- 36-meter luxury catamaran yacht
- Full-width master suite with terrace access
- Large windows, expansive living spaces
- 5.5m x 2.8m main deck pool
Design & Construction
Designed around a catamaran aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 43'8" beam and a 6' draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 481 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2019. This was the first yacht built on the SpaceCat design. She was delivered to her owners in October 2022.
Exterior Design
Space Cat's exterior is characterized by its catamaran configuration, which affords both enhanced stability and fuel efficiency. This design choice also allows for an increase in living space and an array of outdoor areas that are more spacious than those found on a conventional monohull of similar size. The yacht's silhouette is sleek, with clean lines and a modern aesthetic that is both functional and visually appealing.
Notably, Space Cat features a 5.5-meter by 2.8-meter pool on the main deck aft, a sizeable water feature that emphasizes the vessel's generous beam and commitment to outdoor leisure. The deck area, complete with tables and chairs, is designed for entertainment and relaxation, providing ample room for guests to gather and enjoy the marine environment.
The outer decks are easily accessible and offer a variety of spaces for dining and sunbathing. Each level above the waterline presents opportunities for al fresco experiences, with vast aft deck spaces and a covered sundeck equipped with seating and a bar.
The yacht's tenders and water toys, including a Williams tender and two jet skis, are accommodated with practicality and style. One of the jet skis is housed on a submersible platform on the transom that, when not in use for launching watercraft, serves to extend the swim platform's breadth and can be lowered to facilitate elegant re-entry onto the yacht after swimming.
Interior Design
The use of teak flooring and paneling throughout the vessel provides a consistent and warm ambiance while maintaining a modern and polished finish. White walls are accented with dark pinstripe satin stainless-steel inlays and textured leather wall panels, which introduce a subtle contrast and depth to the spaces.
In the saloon, natural light is a key feature, with expansive windows allowing sunlight to play across surfaces, enhancing the minimalist design. The lighting strategy is carefully considered to complement the natural light, with fixtures strategically placed to illuminate the areas without overpowering them, preserving the yacht's serene atmosphere.
Accommodation
Space Cat accommodates up to 12 guests across five well-appointed cabins, each crafted with a focus on modern sophistication and warmth.
The owner's suite is full-width and prominently positioned on the main deck. This suite is designed with a seating area, desk, en-suite shower, and direct access to a foredeck terrace exclusive to the owner. The design ethos of the suite is characterized by its minimalist approach, utilizing natural woods, clear mirrors, and a connection between the indoor and outdoor environments. The integrated sleeping area, closet, and bathroom are enhanced by the thoughtful use of materials, including teak flooring and paneling, white walls with dark pinstripe satin stainless-steel inlays, and textured leather wall panels.
Additional guest accommodations include a twin cabin situated aft of the master suite on the main deck, ensuring easy access and a sense of connection to the yacht's communal areas. On the upper deck, guests will find two double suites that are equally equipped with modern amenities and designed to evoke a sense of serenity and comfort. For those seeking a more individualized space, the lower deck offers a pair of single cabins with additional Pullman beds, effectively maximizing the space available for guests.
Space Cat also provides for the crew of eight's accommodations, ensuring that all who support the luxurious experience of the guests are also housed in comfort.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by 4 x diesel Volvo Penta (IPS 1050) 788hp engines, motor yacht Space Cat is capable of reaching a top speed of 21 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots.
