REDUCE, SilverYachts’ SilverCat 35.5m launched

With a low-resistance and lightweight hull, REDUCE can achieve 20 knots using minimal fuel.

Australian shipyard SilverYachts has successfully launched the second unit in its 35.5m (116ft) SilverCat series from its facility in the Guangdong Province of China.

The new catamaran named REDUCE, is scheduled for delivery in the last week of July and will debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show. The launch also marks SilverYachts' first venture into multihull design.

Designed by long-time collaborator Espen Øino, the SilverCat has been described as a "villa on the water." The series features an open-plan layout, a full-beam master suite, and a stunning swimming pool. Supported by a 13.6m (44.6ft) beam, the yacht offers extensive living spaces, including 575 square meters of exterior decks and 300 square meters of interior living space.

The catamaran accommodates up to 12 guests in one master cabin, two double cabins, and two twin cabins, one of which has two Pullman beds. The crew quarters can house eight staff members, featuring one double captain’s cabin, two twins, and one triple cabin. All cabins are ensuite.

The SilverCat model is built to minimize the environmental impact of yachting, boasting a lightweight, low-resistance aluminum hull. Espen Øino highlighted the catamaran's efficiency, stating it delivers "ridiculously low" fuel consumption with a top speed of over 20 knots, thanks to its low-resistance and lightweight hull.

This aligns with SilverYachts' ethos. Being built in aluminum, being lightweight, and with slender hulls, we're able to operate at speeds with very modest power."
