Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.75m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 494 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2015. This was the first yacht built on the Bilgin 156 design. Launched in August 2017 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2017.
Exterior Design
Starburst III features a sleek and contemporary exterior design that is both functional and visually appealing. The yacht's profile is marked by sharp, clean lines that suggest speed and agility on the water. The use of glass plays a significant role in the yacht's design, particularly with the innovative glass-bottomed Jacuzzi that allows natural light to filter through multiple decks, enhancing the interior spaces with sunlight during the day and with a unique glowing effect at night when UV lights are activated.
The yacht's outdoor spaces are thoughtfully arranged to maximize guest comfort and usability. The spacious sun deck includes ample seating for up to 14 guests, designed to offer flexibility in orientation, allowing guests to face towards the aft or inwards to avoid direct sunlight, depending on their preference. Additionally, a retractable TV on a swivel ensures entertainment is available from any angle, catering to the varied needs of guests. The emergency tender, which doubles as a crew tender, is stored here.
Furthermore, the beach club is used for storage and a gym space.
The master cabin benefits from the abundance of natural light thanks to the panel ceiling, which also serves as a skylight. The yacht's intelligent design extends to the integration of smart house features, with iPad-controlled systems for curtains, lighting, TVs, and music, ensuring convenience and ease for guests.
Interior Design
The main saloon and an atrium feature chandeliers that charge with light, creating a gentle glow that enhances the dining experience in the evening. The lighting design throughout the yacht also includes UV lights that transform areas into visually striking spaces at night, while during the day, natural light is maximized through clever design choices, such as the glass-bottomed Jacuzzis and strategically placed overhead panels.
The main deck dining area is adjacent to a double-sided TV, allowing guests the option to enjoy entertainment with their meals. The aft deck offers another dining space where guests can eat al fresco while still having access to television if desired. Service is facilitated by the inclusion of a wine fridge and a regular fridge in convenient locations to ensure efficient operation throughout the vessel.
Accommodation
Starburst III is a haven for up to 10 guests, ensuring comfort across her five well-appointed suites. The centerpiece of the guest accommodations is the owner's cabin, which is not just a place to rest but a statement of sophistication. The cabin features ample closet space, an office area, and benefits from a sunroof that provides natural light.
The yacht hosts two VIP cabins, each reflecting a commitment to luxury and privacy. These cabins are designed to cater to the discerning preferences of each guest, with electronically operated bathroom doors, and separate shower areas ensuring an exclusive space for rest and rejuvenation.
Additionally, there are two twin cabins, equally equipped with the necessary amenities to provide a comfortable stay. The twin cabins are designed with the same attention to detail and offer the same level of comfort as the other guest accommodations.
For the crew, which can number up to nine members, Starburst III ensures that those who work tirelessly behind the scenes also have their own dedicated spaces.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 2000 M72) 12-cylinder 1,450hp engines running at 2250rpm, motor yacht Starburst III is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 63,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
In addition, adjoining the water, a beach club lets those on board enjoy the feeling of being close to the sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Starburst III also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
Special Features
Designed to cater to a slightly smaller number of guests than most yachts of her size, with four staterooms on the lower deck instead of five, in order to provide guests with much larger spaces to enjoy. The result is that all guest cabins are larger than the norm, with extensive spaces for guests to make their own.
