PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI) and Pelindo have announced the groundbreaking of Indonesia's first international-standard full-service marina, located in Benoa, Bali, marking a significant leap forward for the country's maritime tourism and infrastructure.
Designed to accommodate 180 wet berths, including more than 50 superyachts up to 90m in length, the marina will feature a state-of-the-art yacht service area with a travel lift capable of handling up to 200 tons and a premium fueling station. This development aims to deliver world-class facilities to further establish Indonesia as a premier yachting destination.
With berths for superyachts up to 90m, the new marina would be suitable for some of the YachtBuyer YB100 - a true measure of the world's biggest yachts.
Strategically located in the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) in Benoa, the new marina will be developed by MDI in collaboration with several other companies, including SF Marina, a Swedish marina developer specializing in floating breakwaters and concrete pontoons. The new yacht marina will be built to the highest standards, with locally produced pontoons by SF Marina Indonesia.
Indonesia deserves a first-class marina that reflects its status as the new yachting paradise of the world. Its unique location, safely positioned outside hurricane and typhoon paths, along with its 17,000 islands, spectacular diving spots, diverse languages, cultures, and year-round favorable weather, make Indonesia the ideal location for this development."

The marina's design and facilities will adhere to the highest international standards, with a focus on sustainability and environmental preservation. Yacht owners and visitors can look forward to a host of premium amenities, including a prestigious yacht club, modern yacht service station, fueling station, offices, and dining outlets, as well as luxury hospitality options, entertainment, and commercial areas with extensive retail.
Notably, the marina in Benoa is a vital initiative in stimulating local economies by creating employment opportunities, promoting tourism, and fostering a vibrant yachting community. With construction already underway, the marina is expected to welcome yachts to the first dock in the second half of 2025, with full yacht capacity anticipated by mid-2026.
The new marina in Bali embodies our vision to position Indonesia as a key player in the global maritime industry, combining luxury experience, services, and world-class infrastructure."
