Island Global Yachting advances superyacht marina project in Ibiza

Ibiza, already renowned as a summertime hotspot, is poised to become a year-round destination for yacht owners and charter guests.

The IGY Ibiza Marina redevelopment, marking IGY Marinas' 24th property, will not only expand dockage but also accommodate megayachts up to 140m (459ft).

Island Global Yachting (IGY), in collaboration with Ocean Capital Partners (OCP) and Grupo Empresas Matutes, is spearheading the transformation of the superyacht marina at the Port of Ibiza. Known as IGY Ibiza Marina, the consortium secured the concession to enhance this nautical haven and will cater to yachts from 20m to 140m (65ft to 460ft) year-round.

Strategically positioned a short 10-minute drive from the island's international airport and adjacent to the UNESCO-listed Old Town, IGY Ibiza Marina offers an incomparable location. The marina ensures easy access to some of Ibiza's finest dining establishments, exclusive boutiques, and iconic nightlife, providing an exceptional experience for individuals arriving by sea.

This ambitious project includes substantial investments in upgrading essential amenities such as superyacht power access, fiber optic broadband, CCTV surveillance, crew facilities, and state-of-the-art service buildings.

Salvador Ortiz de Montellano, CEO of Grupo Empresas Matutes, adds excitement about being part of the team working to establish IGY Ibiza Marina as a world-class destination. Steve English, President of IGY Marinas, appreciates the trust placed in them by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing and promoting Ibiza as an incredible superyacht destination globally.

The redevelopment plan aims to extend the stay season for superyachts, breaking the seasonality associated with the marina. While acknowledging that this is an ambitious goal, the partners are confident that collaborative efforts will turn this project into a model of port-city integration.
