Italian shipyard Benetti have launched their fifth hull in the Mediterraneo 116 design this week. Christened as Big Five, the 35.5M superyacht was launched during a special ceremony at the Viareggio facility on April 6th.
Comprising of a fibreglass hull and carbon-fibre superstructure, the new Mediterraneo 116 unit features striking exterior designs from Giorgia M. Cassetta, who also worked on the four previous units that were named Good Day, Botti, Mr Loui and Oli.
Described as sinuous and slim by the brand, Big Five is an exciting addition to the fleet following on from many other recent launches from the Italian shipyard. Including the trio of gigayachts and the fifth Delfino 95 hull.
In addition to the exterior design efforts from Giorgia M. Cassetta, the interior designs were handled by the experienced in house design team at Benetti.
Using exquisite materials such as Olimpico Striato and Zebrino Apuano marble, the design team have created a sophisticated environment which is crisp, modern and effortlessly elegant. Further touches which accentuate the interiors include the innovative use of light coloured matte finish woods.
Spacious interiors provide plenty of space for guests to socialise while onboard, with ample plush seating and a formal dining set up in the main salon.
Big Five sports a five cabin layout which continues the same elegant interior design throughout. The most impressive cabin, of course, being the owner's cabin.
Located on the main deck, the spacious cabin is highlighted by an abundance of natural light thanks to a vast extent of windows. A full beam private bathroom features a his and hers area plus a marble bench seat in the shower. Panoramic views and an exclusive studio complete the exceptional owner's retreat.
